No. The trim is mounted over an intact factory part and can only cover wear within its own area. A broken handle, mirror cover, or molding needs to be replaced as a part.
Not necessarily: “chrome” describes the look. The catalog includes trims made of stainless steel, ABS plastic, and carbon. The material of each item is listed in the product specifications.
Not automatically. Check the model, generation, facelift, and body type, and for handles and mirrors — cutouts for the key, button, sensor, repeater, and camera. Compare a universal part with the factory one by size and shape.
Most model-specific trims are self-adhesive — the installation type is listed in the specifications. Some parts, including wheel arch trims, are attached with sealant, clips, or another method depending on the product.
Not always: trims are sold individually, in pairs, or as a set, and the number of parts is indicated in the product name. Before ordering, count how many handles, doors, or arches need to be covered.
This is the term for black trim instead of shiny chrome. The section includes black versions of some trims, for example wheel arch trims — the color is indicated in the product name.
How it works
Try on the trim Place the part at the installation point without removing the protective film from the tape. Make sure it fits without gaps and does not cover the button, sensor, repeater, or camera, and mark the edges with masking tape.
Wash and dry the surface Remove dirt, wax, and polish residue from the bonding area and let the surface dry completely.
Degrease the base Wipe the bonding area with alcohol or silicone remover. Do not use aggressive solvents — they can damage the paint or plastic.
Pay attention to temperature Apply in a dry, warm place. In cool weather, gently warm the surface and the tape with a hair dryer, without overheating the paint.
Attach the trim Remove the protective film, position the part by the marks in one motion, and do not slide it after it contacts the tape.
Press along the entire length Press the trim firmly, especially the edges and corners, and for the first few days do not direct a high-pressure washer stream at it.
