Chrome door handle covers — Page 18

Door handle covers are decorative trims that stick to the factory exterior handles with double-sided tape: they hide scuffs and scratches on the handles and change the look of the doors, with no drilling required. Most sets in this category are vehicle-specific, made of stainless steel by Carmos and Omsa Line for a particular make, model, and production years; there are also plastic (ABS), black, and carbon covers.

Stainless steel, plastic, or carbon — what should you choose?

• Carmos — Turkish stainless steel, the biggest selection of vehicle-specific sets; some models also have plastic options.
• Omsa Line — Italian stainless steel from a Turkish manufacturer with more precise fit geometry: the cover follows the handle shape more tightly.
• EuroCap — ABS plastic covers for commercial vehicles: Mercedes Sprinter, Vito W638, Atego, Volkswagen LT.
• Libao — plastic covers for handles and handle bowls, including for Subaru Forester, Honda, BYD, and Haval.
• GBT — black and grey covers for Range Rover and Lexus LX (BlackEdition), DDCarbon — carbon covers for Porsche, Maserati, Mercedes G-Class, and Subaru BRZ.

Stainless steel doesn’t rust, and any shine that dulls over time can be restored by polishing. The word “chrome” in the product name describes the look, so check the material and mounting method in the product specs.

How to choose door handle covers for your car

• Model and years. Select the make and model in the filter: the product name lists the generation and years, and sometimes the body type — for Golf 5, Golf 6, or Clio IV there are separate sets for the hatchback (HB).
• Number of handles. Count the doors with handles: for 3-door cars you typically need a 2-piece set, for 5-door cars a 4-piece set. On vans, the number depends on the side sliding door(s) and the rear doors.
• Keyless entry button. Check the driver’s handle: if it has a button or sensor, you need the “with chip”/“with buttons” version. There’s no electronics in the cover — it’s just a cutout.
• Key cylinder. Some set names specify how many pieces have a keyhole cutout (e.g., “1 for key”); compare the photos to your car’s handles.

Collections by brand: Volkswagen door handle covers, Renault, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda. By manufacturer: Carmos and Omsa Line.

Will a cover replace a broken handle?

No. A cover is a decorative trim that goes over an intact factory handle: it can hide wear, but not a break, and the handle itself is not included in the set. For Toyota Land Cruiser 200, Land Cruiser Prado 150, and Lexus LX, this category also includes complete door handle assemblies.

How to care for the covers and how to remove them

Wash the covers together with the car, and after winter rinse off road salt and chemicals. For stainless steel, use a soft cloth: abrasives leave fine scratches that will later need polishing. To remove a cover, warm it up and carefully peel it off; for reinstallation you’ll need new double-sided tape.

What to pair door handle covers with

Handles are often styled together with mirror covers and trunk lid covers. For the interior, there are chrome interior trims, and carbon parts are grouped in carbon covers. All chrome exterior body trims are in chrome covers.
