The German brand Volkswagen is expanding its lineup with the GTI mark. Now the “charged” version will get a compact model of the Volkswagen Up hatchback. This will be the first generation marked GTI for this model.

Looking at the small car Volkswagen Up GTI , one involuntarily recalls the image of the first Golf 1 GTI. Of course, it is not necessary to compare them visually, but they definitely have something related. The speed dynamics of the novelty is much “more fun” than that of its ancestor. The first 100 km/h is reached in 8.8 seconds versus 9.2 for the Golf 1 GTI. The maximum speed of the Up GTI is 197 km/h, while the older model did not exceed 182 km/h. The power of the motors remained at the same level and is 115 horsepower.

It is worth noting that the Volkswagen Up GTI also has external differences from the standard versions. This is, first of all, the presence of a thin red stripe on the radiator grille. The latter, by the way, is made in a sporty style in the form of honeycombs. On the sides there are black stripes that emphasize the sporty mood of the car.

The dimensions of the Up GTI are only a few centimeters smaller than its fellow Golf. The car, compared to the standard version, is lower by 15 mm. At the rear, a wide spoiler has formed above the glass, which visually makes the roof longer.

Inside, the car looks very high quality and sporty richly. Comfortable multifunctional leather steering wheel is pleasant to the touch. All buttons in the cabin are in place. Under the mobile device, a special mount is provided, located above the center console. Using a special application, you can connect the gadget and observe the readings of various systems. The seats received additional lateral support. The salon will be comfortable even for people with high growth.
