I have a flat tire and there is no spare tire: what to do?

There are at least several effective ways to deal with this problem and continue on your way. The main thing is not to panic and act consistently. What can be done on site?

First, assess the situation. If you have a special tire repair kit, you can try to fix the puncture yourself. This is a temporary solution, but it will allow you to safely get to the nearest tire repair shop. Sometimes the cause of a flat tire is not a puncture, but a deformation of the rim. In this case, you can try to pump up the tire - this may be enough for a short trip to the service.

When should you seek help?

If you can't solve a problem on your own, don't hesitate to ask for help. This is the safest way.

• Call a friend: Contact friends or relatives who could bring you a spare tire.
• Assistance services: If you have a new car under warranty, find out about free roadside assistance from your dealer.
• Roadside assistance: Ask another driver to drive you to a tire repair shop with a flat tire, or call a mobile service to the scene.
• Calling a tow truck: This is the most expensive, but guaranteed way to get the car to the service without additional damage.

Extreme case

Driving on a completely flat tire is the riskiest option. It should only be used in an emergency situation, if there is no more than 1-2 kilometers left until the service. You need to drive at a minimum speed (no more than 5 km/h) to avoid damaging the disk and suspension elements. This method will almost certainly lead to the need to buy a new tire.
