Winter Grille Covers for Volkswagen — Page 2

A winter grille cover partly blocks the cold air hitting the radiator of your Volkswagen, so the engine warms up faster on short trips and while idling. This page lists vehicle-specific covers made by Digital Designs for the Transporter, Caravelle and Multivan T4, T5 and T6, the Caddy, Crafter and LT, and for the Golf 3, 4 and 5, Passat B5, B6 and B7, Polo, Touran and Sharan.

Upper, lower or both

The upper cover fits over the grille between the headlights; the lower one covers the vent in the bumper. They are sold separately, so you can fit one or both. For the T5 Transporter 2003–2010 the lower cover comes in a short version (centre of the bumper only) and a full version with side sections.

Getting the right generation

• T4 1990–2003: choose by the front end – short nose or long nose. See the T4 upper grille cover.
• T5: covers for 2003–2010 and for the 2010–2015 facelift are not interchangeable – for example the T5 Transporter 2003–2010 upper cover.
• T6 2015–2024: upper and lower covers are listed; on a T6.1 (from 2019) compare your grille with the product photo.
• Caddy: separate covers for 2004–2010 and 2010–2015, plus dedicated ones for the Caddy Life.

Finish and fitting

All covers are black, in matte ABS plastic or gloss polystyrene; light scratches show less on matte. They clip over the original grille with the supplied hooks – the lower T5 2010–2015 cover uses cable ties – so nothing has to be removed. Check that parking sensors stay clear.
