Volkswagen T5 2010-2015 Winter cover for lower grille

Description

Winter cover for the lower bumper grille for Volkswagen T5 2010–2015 (GP facelift) — black matte ABS plastic cover that closes the central opening in the bumper and is fastened with zip ties over the factory grille. This is the lower part of the winter protection; the upper cover for the radiator grille near the emblem is a separate product.

Which Volkswagen T5 the lower winter cover fits

The cover is intended for T5 2010–2015, i.e. the GP facelift. The pre-facelift T5 (2003–2010) has a different front end, and these parts are not interchangeable. 2010 is a transition year: both versions could be produced in that year, so check the actual bumper and headlights. The cover is selected by the bumper shape: in the photo on the page it closes the central opening above the license plate, while it does not block the side openings at the edges of the bumper. If your car’s bumper is different or has been modified, send the manager a photo of the front end.

Specifications of the T5 lower winter cover

• material — ABS plastic, color black;
• installation type — zip ties;
• package contents — grille cover and mounting hardware.

What the shade selection on the page means

The “Choose a shade” field refers to the surface texture of the cover. The current option is matte: a dark textured surface on which small scratches and traces of road chemicals are less noticeable.

What a winter bumper grille cover is for

In winter, the cover limits the flow of cold air through the bumper opening. The engine warms up faster, and the grille and radiator get less dirty from snow, water, and road chemicals. The cover does not change engine operation by itself and does not replace a working thermostat, so monitor the temperature. For more complete radiator coverage, people often also choose the upper grille cover near the emblem — it is sold separately: winter cover for the upper grille T5 2010–2015.

How to install and when to remove the cover

The cover is installed over the factory grille, usually without drilling and without removing the grille: zip ties are included. First test-fit the cover and position it evenly over the opening, then tighten the fasteners. It can be installed at the network of certified DD Tuning service centers — the manager will tell you the nearest one. When warm weather comes, the cover is removed or engine cooling is monitored so it does not overheat on the road or in traffic. We ship orders via Nova Poshta.
