Universal Side Skirt Extensions DPT Black (ABS) (2pcs) (Gloss Black)

Description

Universal side skirt extensions DPT Black — a set of two extensions (for the left and right side) made of ABS plastic in gloss black. They are not tied to a specific model: they are selected by the length of the car’s sill and glued on with adhesive sealant without screwing.

Dimensions of the DPT Black extensions and how to match them to the car

According to the product card, the size of one extension is — length 194 cm, width 3–7 cm, height 9–10 cm. Product type — “limited universal”: the extension fits not any car, but those where the sill length and shape match these dimensions.

• Measure the sill between the front and rear arches along the lower edge of the body.
• Compare the measurement with the length of the extension; on a shorter sill it will protrude past the arch.
• Assess the sill shape: on a straight lower edge the extension sits tighter than on a strongly curved one.
• If there are no model-specific extensions for your car, universal ones are selected exactly this way — by measurements.

What a sill extension does

The extension visually lowers the body line and makes the side of the car sportier, and gloss black matches other body kit parts in the same color. You cannot step on it — it is a decorative body kit element, not a side step.

Material and color

• material — ABS plastic;
• color — gloss black;
• manufacturer — DPT, Turkey;
• set includes — 2 extensions.

How the extensions are installed with adhesive sealant

The extensions are mounted with sealing adhesive; drilling and screwing are not required.

First, both extensions are test-fitted and the position is marked so that the offsets from the arches are the same on both sides. The bonding area on the body and the inner surface of the extension are cleaned and degreased, the adhesive sealant is applied in an even bead, the extension is pressed on and fixed for the drying time. Until the adhesive gains strength, the car is not washed under pressure.

An extension that has been glued on is difficult to remove without damage, so the position should be checked before applying the adhesive. Installation can be done within the network of certified DD Tuning service centers — the nearest one will be suggested by the manager.
