Where to begin?

You need to start with the fact that the interior of a VAZ car must be completely disassembled and all metal parts must be accessible. What you need to carry out the work, you can read in our previous article Do-it-yourself noise insulation: save on the master .

Soundproofing the engine compartment of the VAZ.

To do this, we need vibroplast Shumoff M2 and splenitis P8. We degrease the gluing points, and only after that we roll the vibration isolation. It is glued only to those places where there is bare "playing" metal, without stiffening ribs. It is not necessary to glue 100% of the surface with vibroplast - this is a "transfer" of the material. After gluing the vibration isolation, on top of it with a continuous layer you need to stick the Shumoff P8 splen. So, we have made the hood noise insulation , which will significantly reduce the engine noise, so we can proceed to the next procedure.

Installation of "vibra" in the under-panel space

The next step in our total soundproofing will be the installation of "vibra" in the under-panel space. For this we need something from visomats. Our recommendation is Shumoff Mix F or ordinary Mix, the prices for which you can see in the corresponding section of the store: Noise isolation ShumoFF .

After removing the panel, we degrease the metal, heat it with a hairdryer (we recommend using a hairdryer for Shumoff visomats, although you wont need a hairdryer for other materials of this brand) and carefully roll the vibra.

Bottom

After the under-panel part has been made noisy, at the same time you can grab the bottom and wheel arches. A similar material is needed here. And do not forget about the stiffening ribs, which we must create artificially (see the article on installing noise insulation with our own hands). It is ineffective to glue splenitis on the bottom and under the panel, but if desired, it is not harmful!

Installation of sound insulation in the roof, bobbins and doors

The next step for gluing will be the roof, bobs and doors. For this we need:

• vibroplast Shumoff M2;
• splenin P4 (for bochins, doors);
• material P8 (for the roof).

The process is similar - creating stiffeners, degreasing, rolling vibroplast, gluing splendor. There is nothing complicated. When rolling the sound insulation on the door, rolling the outer panel from the inside gives the greatest effect; for a stronger effect, you can also roll the inner panel. But in no case should vibroplast be glued to the technological holes (that is, to the holes). Its not effective at all. We will tell you as soon as possible how to close the technological holes.

Noise insulation of the trunk VAZ

For the trunk (especially if there is also a subwoofer in it), thicker vibroplastics M3 or M4, which are also called vibration dampers for noise isolation, should be used . You will not find such materials from any manufacturer - neither in STP (STP), nor in Kics (Kics) - therefore we recommend the Shumoff trademark. The gluing process is similar to everyone else. On top of the vibroplast in the trunk, it is worth using the Shumoff P4 spleen. After "obesshumki", your subwoofer will play much better and louder. You will not hear parasitic rattles.

After the complete noise insulation of the VAZ has been made, it is also worth eliminating internal squeaks, since they are inevitable in cars of this brand. For this we use Hermeton antiskrip (Bitoplast). The material is very similar to foam rubber. We glue it at all joints of plastic with plastic, plastic with metal, metal with metal.

Everything, after that we will forget about all the noises that were present in our car and will feel like in an expensive foreign car.
