Vibrodempfery for soundproofing cars: what is it?

Vibration dampers (vibroplasts and visomats) are used for soundproofing a car, and their principle of operation is based on weighting the metal parts of the body. Particularly popular today are bitumen-polymer composites with various fillers (Shumoff M2, M3, M4 and Mix).

Most of the materials are coated with a thermoadhesive adhesive base, which it is desirable to preheat with a conventional or industrial hair dryer - this will make it possible to better lay the layers on the surface of complex geometric shapes. In this case, the maximum tight contact should be achieved - air gaps are unacceptable.

All materials for noise insulation ShumoFF from the front side are covered with metallized foil, which protects formations from destruction under the influence of aggressive media and improves the quality of damping. In addition, foiling additionally serves as a sound insulator.

Where are vibration dampers applied?

Visomats (Mix, Mix F) and vibroplastics (M2, M3, M4) are applied to body parts that are subject to any vibration:

• cardan tunnel;
• door and roof panels;
• wheel arches;
• a metal panel that separates the passenger compartment from the engine compartment, etc.

However, remember that it is unacceptable to use the same materials on all parts of the body, since there are also some nuances here. For example, if visomats or vibroplasts with a significant mass are used to process the ceiling, then under the weight of their weight, they can simply peel off from the horizontal surface. All existing vibration dampers perfectly cope with sound waves lying in the range of 20-500 Hz.
