Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso (“red heart”) is a concept car that Stellantis unveiled on the evening of 11 October 2026 in Paris, on the eve of the motor show, and on 12 October it became the centerpiece of the Alfa Romeo stand at Mondial de l'Auto. It is a 4.7-meter four-seat coupe with rear doors that open against the direction of travel, a hybrid 2.9-liter V6, and Q4 all-wheel drive. Alfa Romeo is not promising a production version: the concept sets the design and technical direction for models the brand will begin producing from 2028.

What Alfa Romeo showed in Paris
The brand announced the concept’s name even before the show. The car was first shown on the evening of 11 October at Stellantis’ “The Night Before” event in the Hangar Y venue in Paris—together with five more concepts from the group, including Fiat Multiplay and Opel STX (for all the show premieres, see our roundup of the 2026 Paris Motor Show). On 12 October, Alfa Romeo held a press conference at its stand in Hall 4 of the Porte de Versailles exhibition center. The name combines two Italian words—cuore (heart) and rosso (red): Alfa itself explains that red is the color of passion, and the heart is the source of that energy.
Officially, Cuorerosso is a “manifesto,” not a preview of a specific production model. According to Alfa Romeo product chief Daniele K'iari, the concept was made in about six months: designers spent a week or two on the first sketches and then moved straight to 3D modeling. Alfa Romeo and Maserati CEO Santo Fichili said that Alfa has always made cars that “not only carry people, but also awaken something inside,” and that with Cuorerosso the brand is carrying that identity into a future open to different energy sources.
What Cuorerosso looks like
| Parameter | Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso |
|---|---|
| Body type | four-seat 2+2 coupe, rear doors open against the direction of travel |
| Length / width / height | 4 700 / 1 980 / 1 330 mm |
| Claimed weight | 1 750 kg |
| Drag coefficient | 0,28 |
| Powertrain | 2,9 L V6 + full hybrid, Q4 drive (power not announced) |
| Chassis | by-wire steering, air suspension, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes |
| Drive modes | Cruise, Sport, Quadrifoglio |
| Color | Liquid Ink Red |
The proportions are classic Alfa: a long hood, a low roofline, and a cabin pushed rearward. Up front is the so-called “trilobo”: the signature Scudetto shield in the center and headlights at the sides, integrated into a single composition. The hood’s sculpting, according to the designers, is inspired by a boat’s wake on the water. The rear is cut off in Coda Tronca style, and the two round taillights reference the Alfa Romeo 8C. The wheels are in the classic “telephone dial” style familiar from many Alfas of the past.
A separate topic is the Liquid Ink Red color: depending on the lighting, it shifts from bright red almost to black. Alfa calls its design philosophy Bellezza Necessaria (“necessary beauty”): the shape has to serve aerodynamics, hence the low diffuser and the claimed Cx 0,28.
What is known about the engine and chassis
The concept does not promise a production engine, but the version shown is a hybrid variant of the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio paired with Q4 all-wheel drive, a torque-converter automatic, and a carbon-fiber driveshaft. Alfa Romeo did not name the output. Engineers say outright that such an architecture can be made fully electric as well as a plug-in hybrid—the brand wants future models to be offered as electric, PHEV, mild hybrid, and full hybrid.
The concept’s chassis is a set of technologies Alfa wants to see on future sports models: by-wire steering (no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels), air suspension, and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes. Three drive modes—Cruise, Sport, and Quadrifoglio—continue the logic of the DNA selector on current Alfas.
What’s in the concept’s cabin
Inside are four individual seats and a driver-oriented cockpit. The steering wheel is in a yoke shape. The instrument panel is built around two round dials that, when needed, merge into one simplified display; another screen—an OLED “Magma Display” panel—is hidden in the trim and appears only when required.
Materials include Alcantara, metal, and regenerated leather, 60% made from production offcuts from premium upholstery manufacturing, as well as recycled carbon fiber and a lightweight fabric inspired by the sails of ocean yachts.
Will Cuorerosso go into production
In its current form—no: Alfa Romeo says directly that there will not be a separate production model based on this concept for now. But it defines what the brand’s next cars will be like. What is known from executives’ statements in Paris:
- 2028. For early 2028, Fichili announced a new model; according to the press, it is the successor to the Alfa Romeo Tonale crossover, to be shown at the end of 2027. A hatchback rival to the VW Golf and BMW 1 Series is also expected.
- D-segment. A successor to the Stelvio (and possibly the Giulia) is still “in the study stage.” K'iari confirmed that this model will get a hybrid V6, but not the STLA One platform; what it will be built on has not been decided.
- Current Giulia and Stelvio. According to Auto Express, their production will end next year; Junior and Tonale will remain in the lineup.
- Future “Giulietta.” According to the Italian press, it will become a crossover and will adopt several Cuorerosso design solutions.
So Cuorerosso is closer kin not to production cars, but to the exclusive Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: it is a showcase of style and technology, not a catalog of a future model.
What it means for owners of current Alfa Romeo models
There are no accessories for a concept, but there are for production Alfas. In the Alfa Romeo tuning section, we have collected products for the brand’s models—from crossbars for integrated roof rails for the Stelvio to model-specific EVA floor mats and trunk mats for the Alfa Romeo Junior. If you drive a current Giulia or Stelvio that will soon be discontinued, now is exactly the time to set your car up for the years ahead.
