Frequently Asked Questions about Bull Bars and Side Steps
How is a bull bar different from a front guard?
A bull bar is a high hoop that covers the bumper and radiator grille. A front guard is a low tube or hoop under the bumper, sometimes with side “whiskers”; it changes the car’s appearance less. Both types are available in this section as separate subsections.
Are the mounting brackets included?
For model-specific products, yes: for the CAN tubular guard, the set includes a mounting kit; for Erkul aluminum side steps, it includes brackets. Model-specific Erkul brackets for side steps are also sold separately in the “Step Mounts” section. See the product specifications for the exact contents.
Do I need to drill the body for installation?
For a model-specific product, usually no: it is mounted with brackets to the factory points of a specific model. A universal product or a guard from another model will not fit without modifying the mounts.
Can a rear hoop be installed if the car has a tow hitch?
It depends on where the tow hitch is located and how far it protrudes. If a full hoop gets in the way, the more convenient option is rear corners, which cover only the bumper corners. Send the manager a photo of the rear of the car, and they will suggest a compatible product.
Are the bull bar, side steps, and rear hoop sold as a set?
No, these are separate products: the front guard, side steps, and rear hoops are selected and ordered separately for your model. To keep everything looking in one style, choose the same color — chrome, black Black, or aluminum.
