Reviews Rear Cover for Roof Rails ELITE For Universal Accessories
Rear cover for ELITE roof rails — a replacement plastic cap that closes the rear foot of the ELITE roof rail (manufacturer Erkul, Turkey) together with the mounting unit. Sold individually in two versions — left or right, so instead of the whole set of roof rails it is enough to replace one lost or broken cover.
Which roof rails does the ELITE rear cover fit?
The cover fits only ELITE roof rails with plastic feet. In the DD Tuning catalog such rails are available for Mercedes-Benz vans: Vito W639 and Viano 2004–2014, as well as Vito / V-Class W447 from 2014 — black and chrome ELITE rails for W447, black ELITE rails for Vito W639. Buyers with Vito 447 confirm: the rear right cover fit into the factory location.
Factory Mercedes rails, rails of other brands, and rails with a metal foot have covers of a different shape and with different clips — this one will not fit them. For Vito W639 with rear metal feet there is a separate rear cover for a metal foot.
Left or right: what does the variant parameter mean?
The side is counted by the direction of travel, sitting in the cabin. On left-hand-drive vehicles, the left rear cover is on the driver’s side, the right is on the passenger side. Left and right covers are different and do not replace each other. One variant — one cover; to close both rear feet, add both the left and the right to the cart. The price and shipping date are visible after selecting the variant.
How is the rear cover different from the front one and from the foot?
Each ELITE roof rail has two supports — front and rear, and each has its own foot and its own cover. They are not interchangeable, so first determine which exact part you need:
| Part | Where it is installed | Variants | Part numbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| ELITE front cover | covers the front foot | left / right | dd80343l / dd80343 |
| ELITE rear cover (this page) | covers the rear foot | left / right | dd80344l / dd80344 |
| ELITE front foot | front roof-rail support on the roof | left / right | — |
| ELITE rear foot | rear roof-rail support on the roof | left / right | — |
If the support itself is cracked, a cover alone won’t help — you need the foot. Other small parts and fasteners are collected in the roof-rail components section.
How to check that the cover will fit your rails?
- Make sure there are ELITE roof rails with plastic feet on the roof, not factory ones.
- Determine the position (rear) and the side (left or right) by the direction of travel.
- Not sure — send the manager a photo of the foot without the cover and the intact cover on the opposite side. Do not remove the intact cover for the photo so as not to damage the clips.
The car model or VIN won’t tell much here: the cover is selected by the rail type, not by the vehicle.
Material and installation
The cover is made of ABS plastic, color black, manufacturer — Erkul (Turkey), the same one that produces ELITE rails. Installs in the factory location on the rear foot, without drilling or modifications. If you are still choosing roof rails, see the roof rails section.
