Chery Q is the first electric car that Chery is bringing to Europe under its own name. Its public premiere took place on October 12, 2026 at the Paris Motor Show: it is a five-door hatchback 4.19 m long with a rear-mounted motor rated at 89–90 kW (121–122 hp), a battery of about 41 kWh, and a claimed range of up to 400 km on the NEDC cycle. In China, this car has already been on sale since spring 2026 as the Chery QQ3. There are no European prices or WLTP range yet, and the Q is expected to reach the first markets in 2027.

What Chery Q is and where it came from
Before this, Chery entered the European market with crossovers featuring hybrid powertrains — Tiggo 4, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9, which stood next to the newcomer in Paris. The Q is the first Chery brand model in Europe that runs solely on a battery. In a press release dated October 13, 2026, the company describes it as a car for city trips and everyday family errands, and it names the target audience directly: young first-car buyers and families who need a second car for work, shopping and school runs.
In fact, it is not an entirely new model. In China it debuted in August 2025 at the Chengdu auto show as the third generation of the Chery QQ3, went on sale on March 30, 2026, and in export markets — Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and South Africa — it is already sold as the Chery Q. That means Europe is getting a car the manufacturer has already road-tested in other markets, not a prototype. Of the old QQ models that many people remember as the cheapest minicars, only the name has really remained: the new car is noticeably larger and is built on a dedicated electric platform.
Chery calls the design “Square-Round Harmony” — a combination of rounded shapes with straight edges. The most noticeable details are Q-shaped LED headlights, two-tone mirror housings, and “floating” rear roof pillars that visually separate the roof from the body. Depending on the version, the car is fitted with 17-inch wheels.
Dimensions, interior and trunk
The word “city” should be taken conditionally here. The Q is 4,195 mm long, 1,811 mm wide, about 1.56–1.57 m tall, and has a 2,700 mm wheelbase. The French outlet Automobile Propre compares it as follows: it is 27 cm longer than the Renault 5, so in terms of size the car is closer to the compact class than to a classic minicar. Turning circle, according to the Dutch Autozine, is 10.4 m.
| Parameter | Chery Q (data for Europe) |
|---|---|
| Body | five-door hatchback |
| Length / width / height | 4 195 / 1 811 / ≈1 560–1 568 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2 700 mm |
| Drive | rear, single electric motor |
| Power | 89–90 kW (121–122 hp) |
| Battery | LFP, about 41 kWh (see discrepancies below) |
| Range | up to 400 km on NEDC; WLTP has not been officially announced |
| Fast charging | 30–80% in 17 min |
| Trunk | 375 L (up to 1,450 L with the seats folded) + 70 L in front |
Thanks to the platform being electric from the outset, the cabin floor is flat, without a tunnel. The rear trunk has 375 L, and with the second-row backrests folded — up to 1,450 L. Under the hood there is another 70 L compartment — charging cables fit there neatly so they do not take up space in the main trunk. There are 38 storage spots for small items in the cabin, including a 35 L pull-out drawer under the rear seat.
Battery, power and range
The Q has a single electric motor mounted at the rear and rear-wheel drive. The power quoted by European outlets from Chery materials is 89–90 kW, i.e. 121–122 hp. The battery is lithium iron phosphate (LFP) — this type is less sensitive to daily charging to 100% and lasts longer, though in winter it loses range faster.
There are discrepancies in sources regarding capacity and range. Germany’s electrive, France’s Automobile Propre and Poland’s newsauto.pl write about 41 kWh and up to 400 km on the NEDC cycle. The Dutch Autozine cites 42.7 kWh and up to 310 km on WLTP. The Chinese QQ3 officially has two batteries — 29.5 and 41.3 kWh. It is important to understand the difference between the cycles: NEDC is older and significantly more optimistic than today’s European WLTP, so the real-world range of the Q under European rules will be noticeably less than 400 km. Chery has not yet announced an official WLTP figure for Europe — electrive explicitly writes that it will be lower.
Fast charging from 30 to 80% takes 17 minutes, according to Chery. This figure cannot be directly compared with competitors, which usually quote 10 to 80% charging time, and the manufacturer has not yet named the maximum DC charging power. There is a V2L function: external devices can be powered from the charging port — from a laptop to power tools at a summer house.
In-cabin electronics
According to Autozine, the cabin has two screens: a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The multimedia system runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. For parking there is a 540-degree camera system, and for phones there are two wireless charging pads. Chery has not yet detailed which equipment will be in the base European version and what will be reserved for the more expensive one.
When Chery Q will appear in Europe and who it will compete with
There is no exact sales launch date. In the Netherlands, according to Autozine, the Q is expected in Q2 2027. In Germany, the Chery brand will start in the first half of 2027 with hybrid Tiggo models, and the Q will appear later — electrive does not give dates. The company is opening a German headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, starting with 30 dealers and planning at least 100 locations by the end of 2027. Poland’s newsauto.pl only writes that “in the future” the model is expected to appear in the Polish lineup as well. There are no prices for any European market.
Overall, Chery plans to operate in 20 EU countries in 2026 with 687 sales and service points, and in 2027 — in 27 countries with 1,143 points. In the first nine months of 2026, the company sold 292 thousand cars in 24 European countries. Among the Q’s competitors, the French press names the Renault 5 E-Tech, Volkswagen ID.Polo, Cupra Raval, Skoda Epiq, Leapmotor B03 and MG4 Urban. There is no information about official deliveries to Ukraine. Other premieres from the show are in our Paris Motor Show 2026 recap, and accessories for brand models already available in Ukraine are in the Chery tuning section.

Which accessories will suit a city EV
We do not yet have model-specific floor mats for the Chery Q in our catalog: templates are taken after the car appears in Ukraine. Until then, universal floor mats with raised edges will fit the cabin — they hold water and snow and can be trimmed to the shape of the floor, and the flat floor without a tunnel only works in their favor. In the 375 L trunk, a universal 900×1000 mm trunk mat will fit well: it will protect the trim from wet bags and a child’s stroller. Before buying, measure the trunk floor with a tape measure — Chery has not published the compartment dimensions yet.
We deliver via Nova Poshta across Ukraine.
