Car soundproofing and why you need it

Types of noise

Noises fall into two categories:

2. Internal - the impact on passengers and the driver.

And also on the nature of origin: air and structural. That is, noise can be transmitted through the air or through the elements of the body.

Surely no one will argue that listening to your favorite music in the cabin is much more pleasant than the roar of the streets or the tiring hum of the engine. In addition, a high-quality acoustic system will sound much cleaner and more pleasant if the body panels are treated with vibration-absorbing materials.

Soundproofing materials

Soundproofing materials are divided into three types:

• Vibration-absorbing;
• Noise-absorbing;
• Soundproof.

Vibration absorbers (or as they are also called “vibration dampers”) are a kind of shock absorber that dampens vibrations transmitted from car body panels.

Noise-absorbing materials are materials that directly dampen noise due to their foam-like structure.

Soundproofing - also help to cope with extraneous noise, however, in order to achieve the maximum effect, it is necessary to process almost all panels of the car.
