DIY car glass tinting

If you decide to do window tinting on your own, then this task is not very difficult and quite doable. All you need is a little desire and care in doing it.

Before starting work

To carry out the work you will need:

• a roll of ordinary tinted film, it is enough for four side windows;
• a spatula is often attached to the film, but it is plastic, it is better to use rubber for quality work;
• stationery knife;
• it is also necessary that there be a lint-free rag (dry);
• spray;
• detergent or shampoo;
• clean warm water.

Some nuances of toning

After preparing the materials, we move on to action. Some moments:

• It is better not to do it yourself, it is preferable to have an assistant.
• It is also better to tint indoors rather than outdoors. If you still decide to perform tuning on the street, then there should be good weather, without wind, which can inflate dust at the time of tinting on the glass - then all your work will be in vain.
• It's a good idea to have a hair dryer on hand to dry already tinted windows.

Stages of work

1. First you need to wash the glass well with a special tool or shampoo. We attach particular importance to washing corners, where dust most often accumulates.
2. We prepare the spray bottle, fill it with warm water, dissolving detergent or shampoo in it.
3. Next, we cut out the patterns in the shape of the glass, but do not forget that you need to leave an additional centimeter on all sides.
4. Now we sprinkle water from the spray bottle on the already washed glass, and begin to apply the film. Be sure to apply the dark side inwards, and of course the transparent outside. To make it easier to navigate where the dark side is and where it is transparent, you need to slightly separate the corner from above so as not to get confused.
5. Now the most important part of the procedure - you need to quickly and preferably together sprinkle a lot of water on the glass from the spray gun, and before the glass has had time to dry, separate the dark layer from the transparent one. At the same time, when we separate the film, you need to hold the transparent layer and continue to wet the dark side - this must be done very carefully and carefully so as not to tear the film.
6. We continue to smooth the film until the transparent layer disappears, disperse the air bubbles, and then carefully cut off the remaining edges.
7. Then the glass is dried with a hair dryer.
