Send us a side photo of the car. The model-specific rails are held by one bolt at the front and one at the rear: remove the plastic cover, drill a hole for the bolt and screw the rail down. Seal the mounting points so no water gets into the cabin.

To tell the wheelbase apart, look at the rear side window: small and triangular on the short-wheelbase car, elongated on the long one. Rails for the two versions differ in length and are not interchangeable, and the year or VIN will not tell you the wheelbase. 2006 and 2013 are changeover years, so check the generation from a photo – XA30 rails do not fit the next RAV4. A roof box needs cross bars matched to the rail profile. End caps of Turkish-made rails do not fit the original Toyota rails and vice versa, so replacements are matched from a photo of the foot.
