BMW Body Kits – Bumpers, Splitters, Diffusers — Page 70

This section covers BMW body kits and separate parts for a specific body style: front and rear bumpers in M-Sport, M-Performance, M3 and M5 style, front lips (splitters), rear diffusers, side skirts, spoilers, arch extensions and full kits. Parts are available for the 1–8 Series, X1–X7, XM – from the E30 to the G60.

Materials

• Bumpers and full kits – composite polypropylene (PP), supplied ready for painting, fitting to the factory mounting points.
• Lips, diffusers, trims, side skirts – ABS plastic; some DPT lips come in gloss black.
• Carbon – real or forged carbon fibre lips, bonnets and trims.
• Brands – GBT, DDCarbon, DPT, HongHang, Meliset, Max chrome, EuroCap, Omsa Line.

Choosing the right kit

Identify the exact body: the F30/F31 and the F34 GT are different cars, and pre- and post-facelift (LCI) bumpers often differ. Lips and diffusers are chosen for the bumper actually fitted – standard, M-Sport and M-Performance bumpers each need their own parts. Rear bumpers with diffusers are matched to the exhaust: single- or twin-sided, with single or twin tailpipes. Examples: BMW F30 body kits, BMW F10 body kits, BMW X5 G05 body kits.

Painting and fitting

Trial-fit each part and check the panel gaps before painting – transport primer is not a finish. Add-ons for genuine M bumpers may need adjusting on replicas. A front lip slightly reduces ground clearance.
