Mercedes S-Class W221 Body Kits — Page 60

For the Mercedes S-class W221 (2005–2013), there are two main tuning paths: facelift conversion kits to newer generations—W222 (AMG S63 or X222 Maybach S600) and W223 (Maybach, AMG S63, AMG Line)—and the AMG S65 body kit in the original W221 style. Facelift headlights and 2009–2013 grilles are selected separately, and floor mats, window deflectors, and side skirts differ for the long-wheelbase (Long) and short-wheelbase (Short) versions.

Which kit to choose: W222 facelift, W223 facelift, or AMG S65 body kit

Bumpers and side skirts are supplied ready for painting: the part should be test-fitted first and panel gaps adjusted. Converting to W222 or W223 involves the hood and fenders, so discuss the scope of bodywork with your service shop before ordering. You can install the kit at the network of certified DD Tuning service centers—your manager will suggest the nearest one.

Pre-facelift or 2009 facelift: how the W221 model year changes things

The W221 was updated in 2009, so radiator grilles and mirror caps are labeled 2009–2013, and DRL daytime running lights are 2009–2012, offered separately for the AMG S65 bumper and for the standard bumper. The AMG S65 front bumper fits all W221 models, but on a pre-facelift car it is installed together with facelift front headlights and a grille.

There are two versions of facelift front headlights: standard with LED position lights (without control modules) and the Maybach X222 design (with modules). Both are sold as a pair and without bulbs; on a pre-facelift car they fit with bumper and grille replacement, and the NightVision function is transferred from the OEM headlights. Standard facelift headlights do not have AFS cornering illumination. Facelift rear lights (pair) fit both pre-facelift and facelift cars.

AMG parts, grilles, and spoilers available for the W221

• Radiator grilles: AMG, GT Panamericana, Maybach V2, and Maybach Black (2009–2013), the grille for the AMG bumper, and a pair of S63/S65 fog light grilles. If your car has Distronic, provide the VIN to your manager before ordering a grille.
• Spoilers for the trunk lid: paintable ABS in AMG S65 style and carbon V1 and V2 (DDCarbon, real carbon, for sedan 2005–2013).
• Exhaust tips: AMG S63 and AMG S65 stainless steel tips—sets of two with clamps for installation; S65 tips are double.
• Facelift side mirrors complete (pair, black), stainless mirror covers or AMG-Look covers (stick on over the factory caps), V12 Biturbo and Blue Efficiency badges, hood-mounted “sight” emblem.

Long or Short: floor mats, window deflectors, and side skirts for the W221

Interior floor mats—EVA in five colors, Carsuit rubber mats, and Classic, Premium, and Deluxe textile mats—are available separately for Long and Short. An EVA or Carsuit set includes five pieces: driver, front passenger, two rear mats, and the center tunnel bridge. Trunk mats are also made for the specific wheelbase.

Window deflectors with chrome trim from HIC are available for Long and Short, while Niken Luxury is for Long; they mount with double-sided tape. AMG side skirts and underbody protection (2 pieces, mounting holes match OEM) are available in Long versions.

Steering wheel and interior upgrades

For the interior, we offer steering wheels in AMG-Style and S-Style—black, black with red, beige, carbon (including LED versions), with black or gray buttons. Some versions are marked “for AMG”: your manager will confirm the correct fitment for your car by VIN. Also available are interior upgrade kits in W222 and W223 style, and an Oluksuz V4 roof rack for a smooth roof.
