Do the facelift headlights fit a pre-facelift Mercedes W221?

Yes, but together with replacing the front bumper and grille — the same applies to the headlights in the Maybach X222 design. The headlights are supplied as a pair and without bulbs: standard facelift ones come without control modules, while the Maybach X222 version comes with modules. The facelift rear taillights fit both pre-facelift and facelift models.

Will Night Vision work with the new W221 headlights?

The Night Vision function is transferred from the factory headlights to the facelift ones; it’s best to have the transfer done by an auto electrician. The AFS cornering light function is not available in standard facelift headlights.

How is the AMG S65 body kit different from the facelift kit for the W222 or W223?

The AMG S65 body kit keeps the car in the W221 body: a complete front bumper, AMG grille, rear bumper, sills for the Long version, and S65 exhaust tips. The facelift kit changes the look to W222 or W223 — it includes the hood, front and rear fenders, headlights, taillights, and bumpers in the chosen style.

Are the floor mats, wind deflectors, and side sills the same for the W221 Long and Short?

No. The cabin and trunk mats, as well as HIC wind deflectors, are available separately for the long (Long) and short (Short) wheelbase, while the AMG side sills and underbody protection are the Long versions. The wheelbase is specified in the product name.

Do the W221 bumpers need to be painted?

Yes, the bumpers and side sills are supplied ready for painting; the bumpers in the AMG S65 body kit are made of ABS plastic. Before painting, the part is test-fitted and the gaps are adjusted. The kit can be installed at the DD Tuning network of certified service centers — the manager will help you find the nearest one.
