Frequently asked questions
How is a lip different from Flap trims and a spoiler lip?
A lip is a single continuous trim along the lower edge of the bumper. Flap means two separate trims at the corners of the bumper. A spoiler lip is a wider lower trim that extends the bumper downward; these are more often made for commercial vehicles.
How can I make sure the lip will fit my bumper?
Check the product name not only for the model and years, but also for the bumper type: standard, M-Sport, AMG, S-Line, etc., and whether it is pre- or post-facelift. A lip for a sports bumper will not fit a standard one. If you are unsure, send the manager a photo of the front end or the VIN.
How is the lip mounted, and is the glue included?
The installation method is specified in the specifications. DPT lips are attached with glass adhesive sealant, and the glue is purchased separately. Some EuroCap trims are installed in the factory mounting points. For reliability, we recommend additionally securing the spoiler lip with self-tapping screws.
Does the lip need to be painted?
No, if it is in gloss black or carbon, it is installed as is. Trims marked “for painting” (for example, Meliset) are painted to match the body color or a contrasting color before installation.
What should I choose: ABS plastic or carbon?
ABS plastic in gloss black is a practical and more affordable everyday option. Genuine DDCarbon is chosen for its appearance and match with other carbon parts, but it is noticeably more expensive.
What should I do if there is no model-specific lip for my car?
Check the universal DPT lips made of ABS plastic. Before buying, compare their dimensions in the specifications with the width of your bumper.
