How is a lip different from Flap trim and a spoiler lip?

A lip is a single-piece trim along the lower edge of the bumper. Flap consists of two separate trims on the edges of the bumper. A spoiler lip is a wider lower trim that extends the bumper downward; this is more often made for commercial vehicles.

How can I make sure the lip will fit my bumper?

Check not only the model and year in the product name, but also the bumper type: standard, M-Sport, AMG, S-Line, etc., and whether it is pre-facelift or facelift. A lip for a sporty bumper will not fit a standard one. If you are unsure, send the manager a photo of the front end or the VIN.

How is the lip mounted, and is adhesive included?

The installation method is specified in the specifications. DPT lips are attached with glass adhesive sealant, and the adhesive is purchased separately. Some EuroCap trims are installed in the factory mounting points. For reliability, we recommend additionally securing the spoiler lip with self-tapping screws.

Does the lip need to be painted?

No, if it comes in glossy black or carbon, it is installed as is. Trims marked “for painting” (for example, Meliset) are painted to match the body color or a contrasting color before installation.

Will the lip fit a non-original bumper?

Not necessarily. A model-specific lip is designed for the shape and mounting points of the original bumper for a certain trim level, while a bumper replica may differ. If the bumper has already been replaced, send the manager photos of the front end from below and from the side.

What should I do if there is no model-specific lip for my car?

Look at universal DPT lips made of ABS plastic. Measure the width and curvature of the lower edge of the bumper and compare it with the dimensions in the specifications — a lip that is too short cannot be extended, and not every one can be trimmed.
