BMW 5 Series G30/G31 2017–2023 Facelift kit with hood and fenders (for M5 Competition 2021)

The restyling kit with hood and fenders is designed for a comprehensive conversion of the BMW 5 Series G30/G31 to the exterior style of the 2021 M5 Competition. This is the most complete conversion option: not only the bumpers, side skirts and lights are changed, but also the front fenders and the M5 F90 CS aluminum hood.

The kit is primarily relevant for pre-facelift BMW G30/G31 models from 2017–2020, whose owners want to get the design of the facelifted M5 F90. This is purely an exterior M5 Competition Look — installing the body kit does not change the engine, suspension, braking system or other technical characteristics of the vehicle.

The kit is made of plastic and aluminum. Body parts are supplied for preparation and painting. The parts are model-specific and are installed using factory mounting points, but a professional test fit and bodywork are required for a full conversion.

Why the kit includes the hood and front fenders

In this restyling option, the geometry of the entire front end of the vehicle is changed. The M5 F90 fenders create the signature sporty profile and pair with the facelift front bumper. The M5 F90 CS aluminum hood completes the look of the front end and makes this kit visually closer specifically to the M5 Competition.

This is the main difference from the M5 F90 restyling kit without replacing the hood and fenders. The option without body parts is suitable for a more subtle conversion, while this kit is designed for the most complete change in appearance.

BMW G30/G31 front-end restyling

The M5 F90 2021+ front bumper has large air intakes and a pronounced sporty geometry. Gloss black M-Look V3 grilles, fenders and the CS aluminum hood create a cohesive M5 Competition design rather than a set of separate tuning parts.

The kit also includes facelift front lighting and an air shutter grille. Thanks to this, the pre-facelift front end can be comprehensively reworked to 2021-spec components.

Rear-end update

The M-Sport/M5 rear bumper is complemented by an M5 LCI Style diffuser and two silver exhaust tips. Together, these elements create a sporty lower section of the bumper and match it with the design of the front end.

LCI Design taillights change the light signature and allow you to complete the body restyling. Depending on the model year and the vehicle's electronic configuration, adapters, rewiring or coding may be required for installation.

Important information about the lights

The lights included in the kit have a modern Full LED Laser-type design. Before installation, it is necessary to check electrical compatibility with the specific vehicle. The presence of adaptive lighting on the factory headlights does not mean that all factory adaptive functions will automatically be retained after replacement. Additional wiring, setup and coding of electronic control units may be required.

How the kit is installed

First, the vehicle is disassembled and the body geometry is checked. The new hood, fenders, front bumper, lights, rear bumper and side skirts are installed for a test fit. The technician checks the gaps between body panels, the position of the hood lock, hinges, headlights, fenders and bumpers.

Only after a complete test assembly are the body parts prepared and painted. Then the grilles, shutters, parking sensors, cameras, radars, diffuser, rear lights and other components are installed. The exhaust system is adapted for the M5 tips taking into account the pipe position and the design of the specific vehicle.
