Hyundai plans by 2020 to produce eight new crossovers

South Korean car brand Hyundai looks set to revolutionize its crossover range. The company's management reports that eight new models of this segment will be released in three years.

Hyundai over the next three years plans to update and supplement the line of crossovers that are sold in the US market. The management of the concern admits that there was a significant underestimation of the market for cars of this class on their part, and therefore this situation must be corrected as soon as possible.

However, speaking of eight new cars, the company is somewhat disingenuous. After all, the Hyundai Kona crossover model is most likely already included in this eight, because the car will appear in the USA only at the beginning of next year. And the electric cross, which is expected to appear in the near future, will become a version of one of the current models. The situation with cars with the Diesel mark looks approximately the same - the company does not want to abandon the production of cars with diesel engines.

As a result, it turns out that several crossovers, one of which will be on fuel cells, can become completely new models. They will make it on the model of a concept car that does not yet have a name. This car should appear by the beginning of the 2018 Olympic Games, which will be held in South Korea and Japan.

In addition, the company will release a compact SUV, the predecessor of which will be another concept - Hyundai Carlino. Plus, such Hyundai models as Santa Fe and Grand Santa Fe will “rejuvenate”. The latter should become eight-seater and will appear towards the end of next year.

The latest novelty, with the symbol Midsize, is not known when it will be released, but there is an assumption that the car will be made in the style of a coupe crossover.
