Types of fasteners

Below is a list of options for attaching wheel arch liners:

• On self-tapping screws. This is one of the most common ways to attach wheel arches. As a rule, use galvanized self-tapping screws 16 mm long with a flat head.
• On latches (staples). This type of fastening allows you not to drill holes (2-3 screws are used in regular places), the latches themselves are made of durable plastic.
• On the caps. They are made of durable ABS plastic, have a double skirt, and the length of the piston is up to 20 mm. Fasteners are made in standard holes.
• On clips. This is a kind of fasteners for caps. They are made of plastic, have a universal size, but a short tip, which is why some craftsmen use it in combination with self-tapping screws.

Installation

So, we offer step-by-step instructions for installing wheel arch liners on a car:

• We jack up the car and remove the wheels.
• Then the wheel arch must be thoroughly cleaned. In case of revealing foci of corrosion, they must be cleaned and treated with a rust projection agent.
• After that, it is recommended to carry out anti-corrosion treatment.
• Next, we try on each fender liner in the arch. We look how tightly it fits in place, there should be no cracks. You should also unscrew the wheels and check that they do not catch the wheel arch liner.
• We make installation - it is necessary to start from the top from the center and go down the body.
