How to choose xenon (Bixenon) for the car?
Installing xenon requires a quality approach. On this issue, you should contact the center that has a certificate for the installation of additional equipment. There are a lot of such places in Kyiv, Kharkov, Odessa and other cities.
It is very difficult to understand this. But we will try to clarify. Remember one rule: “The best xenon is regular (it is also called “factory”).
As you know, xenon consists of two parts: a lamp and an ignition unit. In a car with a standard kit, Phillips or Osram lamps are used. Blocks for lighting lamps are also, as a rule, of German production: either Hella or Bosch (there are also Panasonic for the Japanese market).
Regular xenon works just perfect. And besides that, it has a lot of advantages. Even in terms of power, the Philips lamp produces the highest figure of 3200lm, while the Korean counterparts shine dimmer - by almost 30%. Agree, the difference is huge!
The German unit has a quick, timely start, maintains the lamp's performance at a high level. In German xenon, with rare exceptions, one light bulb will burn out in two years, and basically factory xenon works forever, over time, only the lamps lose their power (about four years later). The manufacturer claims that the xenon lamp lasts almost three times longer than the halogen: approximately 2000 hours, versus 700 hours.
One of the most important issues that will have to be given special attention is glow temperature , in other words, what color it will shine. Even two cars with a standard set, standing side by side, will shine in a slightly different color - it all depends on the optics. The lens, for example, imparts a slightly bluish tint. And the lamp (everywhere the same) with a temperature as close as possible to the temperature of the sun 4300K - white-yellow light. All regular xenon (except for the United Arab Emirates), using a temperature of 5000K (pure white light) - and often in the high beam, like on the Lexus LX, comes off the assembly line with a color gamut of 4300 Kelvin. This light not only lasts longer, but also makes driving safer. during the day, the eyes see better and get tired less often.
As practice shows, regular xenon can be installed in some cars, but this can be implemented extremely rarely, because. the seat of the lamp from the standard set is only of two types - D2R (for non-lensed optics) and D2S (for lenticular optics). If the car has a regular H7 base, then it is possible to install xenon original ( original ) through a special adapter. The client receives premium quality equipment, but most likely, he will not be very satisfied with the light, because. the focal length of the standard lamp is violated. D2 has a long bulb, and it turns out that the lamp is out of focus. Of course, this negatively affects the illumination of the road surface.
Another recently common option for installing xenon is to use an adapter for the H4 base (this is a halogen double-filament incandescent lamp). That is, one lamp is responsible for both low beam and high beam.
Of course, there is an option for double-filament lamps so that the far one remains functioning - these are Korean bi-xeon kits (sometimes they write "bi-xenon"). The lamp in these kits is designed in such a way that it has a special motor on it, which shifts the lamp at the right moment, thereby changing the focal length. Thus, the light switches from near to far.
Stock optics work differently. The bi-xenon headlight has a special curtain, which, if necessary, makes the light more or less, i.e. cuts off the light.
Recently, it is very fashionable to use 5000 lamps. And they shine great and look stylish.
Korean bi-xenon (bi-xenon) kits are very high quality today. And some copies are assembled on Japanese spare parts. As a result, we have solid pluses. Even out of savings, in the current crisis, for the price of a German kit, you can install two Korean xenon kits: for dipped beam and foglights.
And xenon fogs in general open up new spaces for the driver! Xenon in PTF add a lot of light, especially the first 2-3 meters from the bumper. And the roadside will be better lit.
The Koreans even outperformed their German competitors in some ways. For example, in ignition blocks. There are, for example, xenon blocks of not 35, but 50 watts, which make the xenon lamp work with greater efficiency. There are two-block systems consisting of a large and a small block. The large block gives a starting voltage of 25,000 volts to ignite the xenon lamp, and the second one keeps it running at 35 watts. Moreover, the dimensions of these blocks are so small that they can be installed in hard-to-reach places.
Many firms collect at their factories today, the so-called "original" xenon. These are IPF, Panasonic & Phillips - they all have Phillips bulbs, and the base is modified for a specific car. Such production is not cheap, hence the high cost of the kit.
