Nissan will be allowed to trade elektrichessky crossover

The popularity of crossovers is still at a high level, and if we are talking about the electric version, then the demand for these cars may even increase. Probably, it is for these reasons that the Japanese brand is preparing for production an electric model of the SUV segment.

The new electric crossover from the Japanese brand Nissan will be built on the platform of the Leaf model, but the size of the car itself will increase significantly. The name of the future electric crossover has not yet been announced, but it is known that as standard the car will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of at least 40 kW / h. Thanks to this, the car will be able to cover a distance of 240 km before the first recharge.

If we compare this figure with such electric cars as the Tesla Model 3, Chevrolet Bolt and Tesla Model Y, which should soon appear on sale, then the car of the Japanese developer loses a little. But Nissan management plans to equip the new product with a battery capacity of up to 60 kW / h in the near future. Due to this, the crossover will be able to increase the travel range by 80 km and will be 320 km on a single charge.

Nissan also reports that the main trump card of the new electric crossover over competitors will be its attractive cost. The first market for the car will be Japanese, then the cross will appear in Europe, but for the US it will not be available yet. According to analysts of the Japanese brand, sales of electric vehicles by the end of this decade will cover 20% of all cars of the concern. And the new crossover will only contribute to this development.
