New BMW 8 Series: named for the start date build

For fans of the German car brand BMW has appeared unexpected news. The company plans to resume production of the model range of the BMW 8 Series.

It is worth reminding that the BMW 8 Series was once very popular, but in the late 90-ies of the Assembly of these cars stopped. And now, almost 20 years later the company management decided to revive the series. New coupe will start to collect in 2018, a year later, in the production of allowed convertible.

The production version of the BMW 8 Series will be shown at the automobile show in Geneva next spring. Also, BMW prepares for this plant in one of the provincial towns of Germany.

Many car experts believe that the precursor to this decision was the demonstration of the conceptual version of the show. Future generation "g" is likely to get from concept a significant portion of design decisions. The novelty will be constructed on a modular design, which is used in the production models of the fifth and seventh series.

The technical details of the new coupe are kept secret, but there are suggestions that the car is equipped with turbo petrol engines 4.4 l and 3.0 l, and their power will be equal to 460 and 340 "horses". In addition, it is possible the emergence of hybrid versions, and the "charged" modification of the 600-strong unit.
