Review of Volkswagen Polo hatchback the sixth generation

The German company Volkswagen has publicly presented a new model of the Polo hatchback. An event dedicated to this event was held recently in the capital of Germany.

The new generation Volkswagen Polo model has replaced the old PQ25 platform with the MQB A0 design, which is more made of aluminum. In technical performance, the new car has become very similar to the Skoda Fabia and Seat Ibiza models, which are also produced under the leadership of Volkswagen. Ahead, the new hatchback got a MacPherson strut suspension, and a torsion beam appeared at the back.

In general, the new Volkswagen Polo has become a little larger in size, but not in height. Overall dimensions are 4053 mm long, 1751 mm wide and 1446 mm high. The volume of the luggage compartment has also increased and now stands at 351 liters. By installing door sills, you will protect your car from damage.

The engine range of the car contains various variations of gasoline and diesel engines. Among the gasoline power units there are one-liter 3-cylinder engines with a capacity of 65–115 hp. There are also 1.5-liters with a capacity of up to 150 “horses” with a cylinder shut-off system at light loads. Diesel 4-cylinder units received a volume of 1.6 liters, and their power was 95 and 80 hp. The gearbox can be a 7-band "robot" with dual clutch or 6-speed "mechanics".

The German manufacturer did not ignore the version with the GTI mark. The engine for this modification was taken from the Golf GTI model, which has a volume of two liters and 200 horsepower.

The new Volkswagen Polo model is equipped with cruise control, an emergency braking system and pedestrian recognition, a hidden zone monitoring function, head optics with LEDs and an 8-inch touch screen multimedia installation.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, the new hatchback will be presented in September, and the first orders for the car will begin to be accepted at the end of this autumn. The cost of new items in the German market will be at least 13 thousand dollars.
