Preparation for work

Before proceeding with the hauling of car seats, you must do the following:

• First you need to dismantle the seats.
• Then all parts of the old covers are removed, signed so as not to be confused.
• After that, the metal clamps are deflected and the standard cover is removed from the seat. It is cut at the seams and will be used to make a pattern.
• The material is calculated, each fragment of the old covers is measured.
• A pattern is being made, on each side an indent of several centimeters is made.

Process

So, the process of tightening the seats must be performed in the following sequence:

• The new material is laid out on a flat surface, a pattern from the old cover is applied on top, and fixed. Outline is performed with a margin of 2-4 centimeters at the edges, cut out.
• If desired, the material can be reinforced with foam rubber, which is glued with a special glue.
• Next, using a sewing machine, all parts are sewn together.
• Excess foam parts are cut off.
• All seams are glued with glue from the wrong side. Once dry, beat off with a hammer and stitch with a double stitch.
• Before putting on the seat, the straps are threaded, the cover is turned to the wrong side and put on first on the back, and then on the seat cushion.
• The cover is pulled to the base of the seat (this can be done with plastic straps), the edges of the material are evenly pulled.
• At the end of the work, the new covers are steamed using an iron and a backing made of material.

Note: if leather was used as a new material, then after fixing on the seat, it is recommended to warm it up with a hairdryer. But, the main thing here is not to overdo it with the temperature.
