Side step - the most functional body kit

The side step is a step that is attached to the sides of the car at the level of its bottom. And without such a power body kit today it is difficult to imagine a full-fledged tuning of a Mercedes Sprinter or some kind of SUV.

Types of side steps-thresholds

• solid pipe (one of the most reliable models that provide effective body protection in side collisions);
• a pipe with bends, which are made at a distance of about 10 cm from each edge and have an angle of 10-20 ° (such products look quite aesthetically pleasing and are very convenient to use);
• pipes or platforms with treads - special plastic-rubber pads that are placed opposite the doors, attached to the steps with special rivets and facilitate boarding / disembarking in rainy or snowy weather;
• steel platforms - are a durable steel sheet, edged with a pipe for rigidity;
• aluminum platforms - perform a more practical and aesthetic function than a protective one (as a rule, they always have an attractive matte silver surface and are equipped with anti-slip pads).

Side stand: why is it needed?

• Protects the underbody of an SUV or van from damage when driving over sharp hills, any high obstacles, or when driving diagonally off sidewalks and curbs.
• Protects the side of the machine from damage to the paintwork during inaccurate turning maneuvers.
• It saves the body from dents and scratches in case of minor side impacts (for example, in an accident), and in case of strong collisions, it absorbs the impact, thereby often saving the lives of passengers.
• Makes it easier to get into the car, without getting your expensive designer trousers and coats dirty.

This, of course, is not the whole list of advantages that a side step has. It is also worth noting that it can easily withstand a weight of 150-200 kg (depending on the model), and once again we note that it is a very functional and practical tuning for a Mercedes Sprinter or other minibuses and SUVs. So do not neglect such a useful accessory when tuning a car.
