Winter is almost here, which means that frost and snow may well become a common occurrence in our country. However, not all motorists know what to do with their vehicle in the cold season and what mistakes can be made when servicing and caring for their car.

The main mistakes of motorists

1. Frequent car washing in frost. Such a procedure has a detrimental effect on the paint coating. However, this does not mean that you need to drive with a dirty body all winter, you just need to do it much less often.
2. Using the parking brake. It is clear that in some cases you cannot do without a "manual" brake, but you should not abuse this mechanism. After all, moisture that gets on the brake pads and/or on the brake disc in frosty weather can lead to its jamming.
3. Use of boiling water. Sometimes you can see such a picture as a driver tries to open a frozen lock by pouring hot water on it. However, in this case, not only the lock itself, but also rubber seals and body covering can be damaged.
4. Cleaning of the frozen windshield with "janitors". Under such action, the wiper blades will inevitably deteriorate and wear out at an accelerated rate. There are special devices for this.
5. Using WD-40. Many car owners use this liquid at the first necessary opportunity. But you need to remember that this tool, in addition to everything else, also washes out lubricants, which are so necessary in the operation of this or that mechanism.
6. Half empty tank. It is highly undesirable to leave the car overnight with a half-empty or empty tank, because the free space in it contributes to the formation of excess moisture, which affects the operation of the gas pump.
7. Using a cover or tarpaulin . The use of these means will lead to rapid corrosion of the car, since moisture that does not evaporate accumulates under the cover.
