Do-it-yourself soundproofing stages

To properly soundproof a car with your own hands, you must follow a certain sequence:

1. The first thing that begins the process itself is disassembly. We disassemble that part of the car body that we will de-noise (hood, door, trunk, wheel arches, etc.).
2. Surface preparation. We remove the factory soundproofing, if any; using gasoline or acetone, as well as rags, degrease.
3. We glue the vibration damper (vibration absorber). This procedure is optional, however, if you want to achieve the maximum effect, it will come in handy. For example, it can be ShumoFF or Ultimate.
   
   
4. Then we apply a noise absorber, for example ShumoFF P8. Areas such as wheel arches or engine shield are recommended to be treated in two layers, which will significantly increase efficiency.
5. We glue anti-squeaks. Here such Shumoff materials as Germeton A15 or A7 will be useful.
6. The final process is the installation of all removed parts in their places.
