Do-it-yourself Lanos trunk soundproofing

Earlier we already wrote about how much sound insulation is needed on Daewoo Lanos . Now we suggest that you familiarize yourself with a step-by-step guide to soundproofing the Lanos trunk with your own hands.

Estimated consumption of materials:

• Vibration isolation Shumoff M3 - 15 sheets;
• Vibration isolation Shumoff M4 - 10 sheets;
• Shumka Ultimate Soft 6 - 6 sheets.

Note: the consumption of materials is made taking into account the gas cylinder ("tablet") in the trunk, if your car does not have one, then the consumption will be slightly higher.

Disassembly

It is recommended to disassemble the trunk in the following sequence:

• The first step is to remove the trunk lining (take out seven clips).
• Then the casing behind the rear optics is removed (8 clips in total).
• We disassemble the lining of the rear arches. Each consists of two parts - in the cabin and in the trunk.
• After that, remove the rear seat. First you need to unscrew 4 bolts and pull out the back, and then one bolt and remove the seat itself.
• We unscrew the bolts of the rear seat belts and the screws of the threshold lining. Remove the thresholds.
• Then we disassemble the trim of the rear pillars (5 clips).
• The wheel arch trim is removed in the cabin.

Disassembly completed.

Soundproofing and assembly

The process of soundproofing the trunk of Lanos should be performed in this order:

• First of all, all surfaces are cleaned of dirt, dust and then degreased.
• After that, vibration isolation is applied with the first layer (for arches, a thickness of 4 mm).

Then Shumka is glued, but it is recommended to do this in stages:

• First, the wheel arches from the passenger compartment and the place under the rear seat are processed with noise.
• After that, the skin is installed in its place.
• Further, from the side of the trunk, the arches are processed and the sheathing is attached.
• We close the remaining places and install the rear sofa.

It is in this sequence that the Shumka Lanos and the assembly of body parts are performed.
