Skoda Fabia: How to open the hood – step-by-step guide

Step 1: Release from inside the cabin

The hood release lever in the Skoda Fabia is traditionally located inside the car on the driver’s side.

• Where to look: Look under the dashboard to the left of the pedals (near the door opening).
• Action: Pull the lever toward you until you hear a distinct click. The hood will lift slightly, creating a small gap.

Step 2: Working with the safety catch

Many people try to lift the hood right away, but it’s held by a safety hook (catch) that prevents it from opening unexpectedly while driving.

1. Go to the front of the car.
2. Slide your hand into the gap above the grille (usually slightly left of center, either directly above the badge, or to the right).
