An aerodynamic body kit is an indispensable tuning for any car, the most important characteristic of which is aerodynamics. It determines the action of various external forces on a body streamlined with air masses.

When driving at high speeds, the car, cutting through the thickness of the surrounding air, is blown by air masses and leaves behind a turbulent zone. At the same time, air flows around the body from all sides and create a certain pressure on any protruding parts of the car, which can lead to a deterioration in downforce and involuntary imperceptible braking. This, in turn, significantly reduces the safety and comfort of driving, increases fuel consumption. And to solve such problems, such body kits as a spoiler, a profiled bumper, a rear wing, etc. were developed just the same. That's just the process of their installation should be approached with special care so as not to accidentally overload one of the axes.

Aerodynamic body kit: types and features of installation

• Rear spoiler - mounted on the roof or trunk lid and serves to "break" the air flow. Thanks to this accessory, turbulent eddies do not occur behind the car, and as a result, drag is reduced.
• The rear bumper is more related to decorative functionality and does not particularly affect the aerodynamic properties of the car, but still we do not recommend purchasing Chinese-made products. • Wings - outwardly similar to the wings of an aircraft. There are also models with an inclined surface, which are intended to improve the tightness of the rear axle. In the latter case, we advise you to experiment when installing with different angles of inclination, otherwise you can achieve a completely opposite effect.

In addition, please note that the aerodynamic qualities of the car are negatively affected by lighting equipment installed on the roof, bulky boxes for transporting goods, open windows and a sunroof. And if you still definitely want to make car tuning with body kits, then you should know that their action begins only when driving at speeds over 120 km / h.
