How to re-register a car in Diia: step-by-step guide

Re-registering a car no longer means queues at MVS service centers, piles of paperwork, and losing an entire day. Since 2025 (and still relevant in 2026), the «Продати транспортний засіб» service in the Дія app lets you complete the purchase-and-sale contract fully online. It’s convenient, transparent, and secure — the system automatically checks data in the registers. And after the paperwork is done, the new owner can immediately take care of the car’s individuality — quality tuning helps make the vehicle more stylish and comfortable.

Who can use the service in Дії?

• Citizens of Ukraine with an ID card or biometric passport.
• Both parties (seller and buyer) are authorized in Дії with an electronic signature (Дія.Підпис).
• The vehicle — a passenger car, motorcycle, or moped with no restrictions (seizure, loan, etc.).
• The registration certificate is already added to Дію (or the data is up to date in the MVS register).

Step-by-step: how to re-register a car online

For the seller:

1. Open the Дія app → section Послуги → Продати транспортний засіб (or in the registration certificate menu tap «Продати ТЗ»).
2. Select the vehicle from the list of available transport.
3. Enter the agreed price and contact details (phone, email).
4. Review the draft contract and sign it with Дія.Підписом.
5. Send the buyer a QR code or a link.

For the buyer:

1. Scan the QR code or open the link in your Дії.
2. Check the contract details and agree to the terms.
3. Choose the type of registration certificate (electronic or a plastic one with delivery by Укрпошта).
4. Specify whether to keep the old license plates or order new ones.
5. Pay the administrative fee online (by card).
6. Sign the contract with Дія.Підписом.

After both parties sign, the system automatically registers the transfer of ownership. The new registration certificate and plates (if ordered) will be delivered by Укрпошта.
