Full BMW X7 G07 facelift in LCI M-Performance style
The pre-facelift BMW X7 G07 has a recognizable premium design, but after the release of the LCI version, the model’s appearance changed significantly. In this project, the goal was to comprehensively update the vehicle and visually bring it closer to the modern 2023 BMW X7 M60i.
For the conversion, we used the BMW X7 G07 facelift kit to M60i 2023. The project included body part preparation, painting, test fitting, and final installation. All work was carried out in Chernivtsi at the partner certified service center ZUBRYN AUTO STUDIO.
The full work cycle took about three weeks.
How is the BMW X7 LCI different from the pre-facelift version?
The biggest difference between the early BMW X7 G07 and the facelift version is visible at the front. The LCI received a new lighting architecture, a different bumper shape, and a more modern geometry of decorative elements.
The front end became visually more complex and aggressive, and the design moved closer to the current styling of BMW’s large models. That’s why switching to LCI M-Performance delivers a much bigger effect than installing a separate trim piece or a new spoiler.
After such a facelift, the vehicle is perceived as a newer model year, even though the base body remains the same.
BMW X7 G07 facelift kit to M60i 2023
The foundation of the project was the facelift kit for BMW X7 G07 in 2023 M60i style. This set is intended for a comprehensive exterior update, not for local cosmetic tuning.
Before ordering the kit, it’s important to correctly determine the model year, trim level, and equipment of the specific vehicle. You need to take into account parking sensors, cameras, radars, driver-assistance systems, and other components integrated into the front and rear sections of the body.
The more complex the BMW X7’s specification, the more important a предварній compatibility check of all parts becomes.
Preparing body components before installation
A comprehensive facelift starts with a test fit. New parts are installed on the vehicle without final fastening, and mounting points as well as joints with fenders, hood, lighting, and other body elements are checked.
At this stage, it’s important to assess the kit’s geometry and the uniformity of the future panel gaps. If fitment correction is required, it is done before painting.
Only after a complete test fit do the parts move on to surface preparation and paintwork.
Painting the kit to match the body color
The BMW X7 has large body panels, so even a slight difference in оттенок will be clearly visible. That’s why professional painting with an exact color match to the specific vehicle is essential for a facelift.
Before applying paint, surfaces are prepared, primed, and checked for defects. After painting, the shade, clearcoat texture, and match to adjacent body elements are controlled.
Proper preparation makes it possible for the new parts to look like a factory part of the vehicle.
How did the LCI M-Performance installation go?
After preparation and painting, the final installation is performed. The OEM elements are removed, and the new kit is installed with checks of mounting points and panel gaps.
Special attention is paid to the front end, since this is where a large number of electronic components and sensors are located. After installation, it’s necessary to make sure all systems operate correctly, and that decorative and functional elements are installed in their proper places.
For such a project, not only accuracy in bodywork matters, but also correct integration of the factory equipment.
Why did the facelift take three weeks?
Three weeks is the full work cycle, not just the direct installation of parts. The project included removal, test fitting, preparation, painting, drying, final installation, and checking all panel gaps.
With a large kit, it’s not worth reducing time by cutting preparation stages. Those stages determine how well the new parts will fit the body and whether the vehicle will look like a factory LCI version.
Cost of the BMW X7 G07 facelift
The cost of the BMW X7 G07 facelift kit to M60i 2023 in this project was 211,500 UAH. Installation and painting cost 80,000 UAH.
The work was performed in Chernivtsi at the partner certified service center ZUBRYN AUTO STUDIO. The total project timeframe was about 3 weeks.
What changed after the facelift?
After completion, the BMW X7 G07 received a much more modern appearance. The biggest difference is visible at the front: the new geometry made the vehicle more aggressive and closer to the current styling of the BMW X7 M60i.
- the front end became more modern and expressive;
- the design moved closer to the BMW X7 LCI 2023;
- the body gained a more sporty M-Performance styling;
- the vehicle started to look like a newer model year;
- the result is perceived as a cohesive facelift, not a set of separate parts.
Why is a full facelift better than local tuning?
On the BMW X7, you can install a grille, splitter, diffuser, or spoiler separately. But such changes don’t deliver the same effect as a comprehensive switch to LCI.
With a full facelift, the key zones of the vehicle change, so the result is immediately noticeable from all main angles. The front and rear are выполнаны in a single style, and the design doesn’t look fragmented.
This is especially relevant for an expensive premium vehicle, where what matters is not the number of tuning parts, but their consistency with each other.
Who is the BMW X7 G07 LCI facelift for?
This kind of project is suitable for owners of the pre-facelift BMW X7 G07 who want to максимально update the vehicle’s appearance without moving to a newer car.
If the vehicle’s technical condition is fully satisfactory, a comprehensive facelift allows you to get a more modern design and significantly refresh the exterior.
It’s also a good option for owners who prefer BMW’s factory styling and want to avoid overly aggressive non-original tuning.
Result of the BMW X7 G07 conversion
As a result, the BMW X7 G07 received a full update in LCI M-Performance style. The vehicle began to look more modern, more aggressive, and closer to the 2023 BMW X7 M60i.
The key in this project was not only installing the new kit, but also proper test fitting, high-quality painting, and precise assembly. These stages determine whether the facelift will look like a factory solution.
After three weeks of work, the owner received a comprehensively updated BMW X7 with a more modern front and rear end, M-Performance styling, and an appearance that resembles the pre-facelift version far less.
