Geely Monjaro EM-i is a D-segment plug-in hybrid crossover about 4.8 m long, which Geely first unveiled in Europe on 12 October 2026 at the Paris Motor Show. The EM-i Super Hybrid system with a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine delivers 246 kW and 667 N·m in the AWD Ultra version, up to 116 km on electric power under WLTP and consumption from 2.4 l/100 km. Geely has not yet announced European pricing; sales in Germany are scheduled for mid-November 2026, and in the UK for 2027. The main rival named by both Geely and the British press is the Skoda Kodiaq iV.

What Geely showed in Paris and how Monjaro EM-i differs from the old Monjaro
The 2026 Paris Motor Show ran from 12 to 18 October at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles; Geely’s stand was in Hall 7.1 (D12). The press conference took place on 12 October at 17:00, and the centerpiece of the stand was Monjaro EM-i — Geely calls it its first global D-segment plug-in hybrid crossover and the brand’s flagship for Europe. Alongside it were the electric E2 and E5, the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid, and the Project KO11 off-road concept, which is promised for Europe later. Geely Europe chief Aiden He called the Paris premiere “an important moment for Geely Auto in Europe”.
Monjaro is not new to us: in 2023, a petrol Monjaro with a 2.0-liter turbo engine rated at 238 hp and all-wheel drive was officially imported to Ukraine — we covered it in our review of the Geely Monjaro crossover. The European car is a different generation with different engineering: it is built on the GEA-Evo platform designed for electrified vehicles, with the GEEA 3.0 electronic architecture, and it uses a plug-in hybrid instead of a pure petrol engine. The name remained (Geely derives it from Kilimanjaro), but the powertrain, battery and electronics are new. Geely also emphasizes that it tuned the car specifically for European roads.
Europe became the fourth major market for this model: before Paris, the export Monjaro EM-i was already on sale in Egypt and Azerbaijan, and in China the car is known as Xingyue L and has been produced since 2021. Overall, Geely operates in 27 European countries through five subsidiaries (the Netherlands, France, Germany, Hungary, Spain) and more than 450 sales points.
What hybrid is under the hood and how far it goes on electric power
At the core is the EM-i Super Hybrid system: a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine developed specifically for the hybrid, and electric motors that do most of the driving. Front-wheel-drive versions have one electric motor; all-wheel-drive versions have two, with the rear working in the e-AWD system and redistributing torque within milliseconds. Officially, Geely named specifications only for the top AWD Ultra version: 246 kW (about 334 hp) and 667 N·m of peak torque. The front-wheel-drive version has a top speed of 200 km/h.
Electric range is up to 116 km under WLTP, and combined fuel consumption is from 2.4 l/100 km. DC charging in the Ultra version supports up to 78 kW: from 30 to 80% the battery charges in about 15 minutes. Battery capacity is not stated in the official release; according to the German press, which has already received specs for the German market, there are two versions:
| Parameter | Pro / Max (front-wheel drive) | Pro+ / Ultra (e-AWD) |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 18.4 kWh | 29.8 kWh |
| Electric range, WLTP | 82 km | 116 km |
| Total range | 922 km | 906 km |
| DC charging, maximum | 38 kW | 78 kW |
| DC charging 30–80% | ≈20 min | ≈15 min |
| 0–100 km/h | 7.7 s | 5.8 s |
| Top speed | 200 km/h | 190 km/h |
Geely has not yet confirmed these figures in a separate European release, so we treat them as preliminary. Driving modes in the standard version are Pure, Hybrid, Power and Snow; the all-wheel-drive adds Sand and Off-road, as well as adaptive CCD suspension, which changes damper stiffness in about 20 milliseconds, and torque vectoring with axle decoupling.
What this means in practice
Monjaro EM-i is a classic “series-parallel” hybrid like BYD DM-i: in the city it drives like an EV, while the engine mostly turns a generator and connects directly only on the motorway. That is why a real-world 80–100 km on electric power covers daily driving for most owners, and the 2.4 l/100 km figure is achievable only with a full battery at the start; with a depleted battery, consumption will be typical for a two-tonne crossover.
Dimensions, boot and interior
Length is about 4.8 m (export data: 4 800 × 1 895 × 1 700 mm), wheelbase is 2 845 mm, i.e. the same as the petrol Monjaro for Ukraine (4 770 mm, with the same wheelbase). Geely quotes 992 mm of front headroom, 1 457 mm shoulder width, up to 130 mm of knee room in the second row, and a maximum luggage volume of up to 2 183 l. There is a discrepancy on boot volume between markets: the UK presentation states 633 l and 1 532 l with the second row folded, while German data lists 559 l and 1 391 l; the difference is most likely due to measurement methodology (to the parcel shelf or to the roof), so for your market it is best to check the local price list. The cabin has 34 storage compartments; load length with the seats folded is 2.8 m. At launch the car is five-seat; the British press expects a seven-seat version later.
The dashboard has three screens: a 25.6-inch head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.4-inch central touchscreen running Flyme Auto with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The front seats with an 11-layer structure have heating and three-stage ventilation and an eight-point massage (in Max and Ultra versions); the Flyme Sound audio system has 16 speakers with a 1,000 W amplifier and speakers in the headrests. For cabin quietness there are laminated double front windows, and sound-deadening materials cover about 89% of the body.
Safety: seven airbags, a high-strength steel safety cell, 17 active-safety functions and 9 comfort assistants, and a surround-view camera with a “transparent” underbody view. The battery passed 21 extreme-condition tests under the Battery Safety System. Geely says the car is prepared for five stars in Euro NCAP, but there is no test result yet — this is a target, not a rating.
How Monjaro EM-i differs from the Skoda Kodiaq iV
The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq with the 1.5 TSI iV plug-in hybrid is the closest European rival in size and format: five seats, front-wheel drive, with a 25.7 kWh battery. The table includes only official Skoda data and Geely data that is official or confirmed by the press.
| Parameter | Geely Monjaro EM-i | Skoda Kodiaq iV |
|---|---|---|
| Length | ≈4 800 mm | 4 758 mm |
| Drive | front-wheel drive or electric all-wheel drive (e-AWD) | front-wheel drive only |
| System output | 246 kW (AWD Ultra); not announced for the front-wheel-drive version | 150 kW |
| Maximum torque | 667 N·m | 350 N·m |
| Battery | 18.4 or 29.8 kWh (data for Germany) | 25.7 kWh |
| Electric range, WLTP | up to 116 km | over 100 km |
| DC charging | up to 78 kW, 30–80% in ≈15 min | DC fast charging is available; the official page does not state power |
| 0–100 km/h | 5.8 s (AWD) / 7.7 s (FWD), per press reports | 8.4 s |
| Top speed | 200 km/h (FWD) | 210 km/h |
| Boot | 633 l / 1 532 l (UK data) | 745 l |
| Transmission | EM-i hybrid transmission | six-speed automatic |
| Seating | 5 (7 expected later) | 5 |
The conclusion from the table is simple: Geely wins on power, all-wheel drive and a slightly longer electric range, while Skoda counters with a larger boot and a proven service network. The power gap is mostly on paper — in everyday driving, hybrids on electric torque feel similarly quick, but having e-AWD for Ukrainian winters is a real advantage. There is nothing to compare on pricing yet: Geely has not announced the European price of Monjaro EM-i.
When Monjaro EM-i will go on sale and what about the price
Timing varies by market. In Germany, sales are scheduled to start in mid-November 2026 with four trims — Pro, Max, Pro+ and Ultra; there is no information yet for Austria and Switzerland. In the UK, the car will appear in showrooms in 2027 as the brand’s flagship, and above it in 2028 will be the Galaxy Battleship 700 hybrid SUV. Geely has not disclosed European prices either in Paris or afterwards — the British press only speculates on the level, so until an official price list appears, any figures are guesswork.
The European warranty is 8 years or 200,000 km for the vehicle and the high-voltage battery with guaranteed remaining battery capacity of at least 70%, 12 years against perforation corrosion, and three years of roadside assistance (for the UK the figures are in miles — 125,000). The condition is servicing according to the schedule at authorized Geely partners. Geely has not reported official deliveries of Monjaro EM-i to Ukraine; the previous petrol Monjaro was officially imported to Ukraine, so the hybrid’s arrival is quite likely, but there is no confirmed information.

Accessories for Monjaro
We do not yet have model-specific mats and wind deflectors for Monjaro in our catalogue — patterns for the EM-i will be taken once the car appears in Ukraine, and the European generation differs from the petrol one. Until then, universal raised-edge floor mats will work for the interior: they retain water and snow just like model-specific EVA mats from the EVA mats section, only without the exact floor shape. For side windows, there is a window deflectors section — model-specific sets for new Chinese crossovers are among the first to arrive there. For the crossover’s integrated roof rails, universal crossbars for integrated rails with a lock will fit — they let you carry a roof box or bikes without waiting for a model-specific roof rack.
