Leapmotor D19 is the largest and most expensive vehicle from the Chinese brand: a six-seat SUV measuring 5,252 mm in length, first shown outside China on October 12, 2026 — at the Paris Motor Show, on a stand next to Stellantis brands. Paris received the version with a petrol generator (EREV): an 80.3 kWh battery, more than 300 km on electricity alone according to preliminary WLTP data, and two electric motors, one on each axle. Whether the D19 will be sold in Europe varies depending on the source: Leapmotor did not name a launch date or prices.

What the Leapmotor D19 is and why it’s being talked about in Paris
The D19 is the flagship of the new D series, the top tier of Leapmotor’s lineup. The company unveiled it in China on October 16, 2025, and sales there began in April 2026. It is the brand’s first vehicle to play in the large family SUV segment on the level of the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS: its wheelbase is 71 mm longer than the X7’s.
For Europe, Leapmotor is not exactly “just another Chinese brand.” Stellantis owns 21% of Leapmotor and 51% of the joint venture Leapmotor International, which sells the brand’s cars outside China through the group’s dealers. According to the show organizers, Europe already accounts for 13% of Leapmotor’s global sales in 2026. In Paris, the brand took its largest stand — in Hall 4 — and the press conference took place on October 12 at 10:40. Alongside the D19, they displayed the compact electric car B03 (in China — A05, which we covered in the review Leapmotor A05 / B03 for Europe), as well as the B03X, B05, B10, C10, and T03. An overall overview of the show premieres is in the article Paris Motor Show 2026: dates and main premieres.
D19 dimensions and how many seats it has
The D19 is a large vehicle even by European flagship standards. The data below are from the Chinese version; Leapmotor did not measure the European one separately, but showed the same body in Paris.
| Parameter | Leapmotor D19 |
|---|---|
| Length | 5 252 mm |
| Width | 1 995 mm |
| Height | 1 780 mm |
| Wheelbase | 3 110 mm |
| Wheels | 21 inches on all versions |
| Seats | 6 (2+2+2) in Paris; in China there is also a 7-seat version |
| Suspension | air, dual-chamber, with adaptive dampers; 55 mm ride-height adjustment |
| Panoramic roof | 2.7 m² |
In the six-seat version, the second row consists of two individual “captain’s” chairs with a “zero-gravity” position, with a 195 mm passage between them to the third row. In the seven-seat Chinese version, the second-row backrests recline to 145°. It is the six-seat configuration that Leapmotor brought to Paris.
On the outside, the D19 stands out with three-level front lighting (the headlamp can work as a projector), a lower grille with shutters that open and close depending on the mode, flush-mounted windows, and a rear light bar about 1,958 mm long with 11,025 LEDs. There is a lidar on the roof — it works together with other sensors of the driver-assistance system (28 in total).
How the generator works and how far the D19 will go on electricity
The version shown in Paris is a series hybrid, or an electric vehicle with a range extender (EREV; at Leapmotor — Super REEV). The wheels are driven only by two electric motors, one per axle, meaning all-wheel drive. The 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine works only as a generator and is not connected to the wheels. The 80.3 kWh battery, according to Leapmotor, is the largest ever fitted to a car of this type.
The key number for Europe is more than 300 km on electricity alone. Leapmotor calls it preliminary, according to the WLTP cycle; there is no official homologation yet. Under the Chinese CLTC cycle, this same version does up to 500 km on electricity, but CLTC is noticeably more optimistic than WLTP, so these figures cannot be compared directly. The 800 V system charges the battery from 30 to 80% in about 15 minutes.
Sources differ on power. At the debut in October 2025, the EREV version was credited with 400 kW (536 hp); at the start of sales in China in April 2026 and in the Spanish press about the European version, 300 kW (408 hp) appears. Leapmotor has not yet published the final European figures.
| Version (China, April 2026) | Battery | Electric range, CLTC | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| EREV | 63.7 kWh | 400 km | 300 kW, 2 motors |
| EREV | 80.3 kWh | 500 km | 300 kW, 2 motors |
| Electric vehicle | 99.6 kWh | 620 km | 410 kW, 2 motors |
| Electric vehicle | 115 kWh | 720 km | 410 kW, 2 motors |
| Electric vehicle, three motors | 115 kWh | 680 km | 540 kW, 0–100 km/h in 3.94 s |
Fully electric versions run on a 1,000 V architecture. Whether they will come to Europe, Leapmotor has not confirmed; only the EREV was shown in Paris. The Spanish press writes that for Europe the main battery will be 80.3 kWh, and 63.7 kWh could be a possible option, but even that is not official yet.
Inside: screens, a fridge, and an oxygen generator
The D19 cabin is a showcase of what Leapmotor can do in “smart” electronics. The driver gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an augmented-reality head-up display; in the center there is a 17.3-inch touchscreen. For the second row, a 21.4-inch monitor drops down from the ceiling, and another 6-inch screen controls the climate and seats. The audio system has 23 speakers, the cabin includes an 8.1-liter fridge, and there are electric sunshades for the second and third rows.
The most unusual detail is a built-in oxygen generator with an output of up to 8 liters per minute. In China it is presented as a feature for trips to high altitudes, for example to Tibet. The computing side is based on two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chips with a combined performance of 1,280 TOPS: one handles multimedia, the other handles driver assistance, including autopilot on city streets and highways (NOA) and automatic braking at speeds from 4 to 150 km/h. Which of these functions the European version will get, Leapmotor did not specify.
Will the Leapmotor D19 be sold in Europe
Here, sources disagree, and we present it as such.
- Cautious version. French outlet L'argus wrote before the show, citing Leapmotor, that the D19’s entry into the European market “is not on the agenda right now,” and that the Paris display is meant to build the brand’s image. MotorsActu уточнює after the premiere: a sales start date in Europe has not been announced, and a showing outside China does not yet mean sales.
- Optimistic version. Spain’s Motor.es, Carwow, and Autofácil write that the D19 “will come to Europe,” and refer to European data — six seats, 80.3 kWh, more than 300 km WLTP. But none of them name prices or a launch date.
What is known for sure: in China the D19 costs from 219,800 yuan (EREV with the smaller battery) to 269,800 yuan (electric vehicle with three motors). Converting this to euros as a forecast price for Europe is not worth it — duties, taxes, and homologation change the figure substantially. In Paris itself, the D19 did not make the list of cars available for test drives, unlike models that are already on sale.
For Ukraine, the D19 in the near future is a story of private import from China: there are no official sales here, and model-specific accessories for this body are not yet being made.
Which accessories will fit the D19 already now
There are no model-specific products for the D19 in the catalog yet — in the Leapmotor section right now there are roof rails for the C10 and C11. So here’s an honest take on what will realistically fit.
- Floor mats. For the time being — universal mats: Stingray or Polytep rubber mats with a lip hold water, snow, and road chemicals. For the third row and the trunk of a large SUV, universal mats sized 1000 × 1200 or 1200 × 1200 mm are convenient — you trim them with scissors to match the floor shape. Model-specific EVA mats are sewn to patterns of a particular interior, and for the six-seat D19 with its aisle between the seats, a universal set will never fit perfectly — it’s worth understanding that in advance.
- Roof rails and a roof rack. In 2025 spy photos the D19 had integrated rails pressed close to the roof, but Leapmotor does not describe them officially. Crossbars for conventional rails (with clearance under the tube) will not fit integrated ones — that roof needs crossbars specifically for this type. Options and mounting types are in the sections roof rails and roof rack for rails. Also keep two things in mind: there is a lidar on the D19’s roof, and any load must not block its view, and the 2.7 m² panoramic roof leaves not much space for mounts.
