New Dacia Spring 2nd gen: bigger, 82 hp, built in Europe from 17 900 €

Dacia Spring of the second generation is a city electric hatchback 3,850 mm long with a 60 kW (82 hp) motor, a 27.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, and a range of up to 250 km under WLTP. Dacia unveiled it on September 8, 2026: the car became 150 mm longer and 180 mm wider than the old one, and it is now assembled not in China but at a Renault Group plant in Novo Mesto (Slovenia). According to European outlets, the price starts at €17,900 for the Expression version — without government subsidies and options.

What has changed compared to the first generation
The first Dacia Spring appeared in 2021 and over five years found more than 210,000 buyers in more than forty countries. Dacia spoke about its future in June 2026, and held the full presentation in early September. The name stayed, but the car is new: it is built on the RG-EV platform, which also underpins the Renault Twingo E-Tech and Renault 5. The powertrain is shared with the Twingo as well: the same 27.5 kWh battery, an 80 hp motor, and 175 Nm.
On the outside, the Spring looks more “grown-up”: according to Auto Zeitung, it has a new front end with a higher hood, and the pseudo-SUV cladding has almost disappeared. The rear hatch door no longer has a plastic frame around the glass. Black plastic remains on the bumpers, and the charging flap has been moved to the right front fender. The headlights are angular and LED, and the door handles are conventional. There are four body colors: Agave, Schist Grey, Diamond Black, and Glacier White.

Data on the previous generation is from paultan.org; its different versions (including the 2025 facelift) have other motors, so it is worth comparing with the base Spring from 2021–2024. We wrote about that version separately: Dacia Spring 2024 review.
Dimensions, motor, and range
The length of the new Spring is 3,850 mm, width without mirrors is about 1,740 mm (sources cite 1,737 to 1,740 mm), and curb weight starts at 1,212 kg. This is still a city car: turning circle is 4.95 m, and there are four seats inside. The trunk is 337 L; with the 50:50 rear bench folded — 1,283 L. An 18 L front trunk is available for an extra charge — convenient for carrying the charging cable. Inside, there are up to three YouClip mounting points for accessories — a cup holder or a bag hook.
The front electric motor produces 60 kW (82 PS) and 175 Nm. The Spring accelerates to 100 km/h in 12.1 s, and top speed is limited to 130 km/h. The battery is an LFP unit with 27.5 kWh usable capacity; range is up to 250 km under WLTP, and the rated consumption is 12.7–12.9 kWh per 100 km. The “up to 250 km” figure refers to the combined WLTP cycle; on highways and in winter with heating, the real-world range will be noticeably lower.
How the new Spring charges
As standard, it comes with a 6.6 kW AC on-board charger. According to Dacia, charging from 15 to 80% takes:
- from a household outlet — 9 hours;
- from a reinforced outlet — 5 h 40 min;
- from a 7 kW home wallbox — 2 h 55 min;
- from an 11 kW three-phase station or a 22 kW point — 1 h 55 min (fast-charging pack required);
- from a 50 kW DC fast charger — 28 minutes (pack also required).
The fast-charging pack adds an 11 kW AC on-board charger and a DC connector up to 50 kW. According to paultan.org and Auto Zeitung, it also includes a V2L adapter that allows you to power devices from the battery. In France, the pack costs €500 and is available only for the Journey trim.
Trim levels and pricing for the new Dacia Spring
There are two trim levels, and the motor and battery are the same in both.
- Expression — base: 15-inch wheels, 7-inch digital cluster, electric parking brake, rear parking sensors, and the Media Control system that works via a smartphone and the Dacia app (no built-in display).
- Journey — 16-inch wheels, 10.1-inch center screen with Media Nav Live, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rearview camera, and key card.
According to French, Italian, and German outlets, prices are as follows: Expression — from €17,900, Journey — €19,400 (in Italy they cite €19,500), excluding government subsidies and options. Dacia Belux confirmed that the entire lineup will cost under €20,000. Among the options in France are a front trunk for €150, metallic paint for €550, and seat heating for €250. Dacia press materials do not list prices, so the final figures for each country can only be obtained from a local dealer.
When sales will start
Dacia opened order intake in France on September 8, 2026. Information on the first deliveries varies: according to Carscoops, market launch is expected at the end of 2026, with the first cars arriving in early 2027; other outlets cite late 2026. The Ukrainian price and timing have not been officially announced.

Which accessories will fit the new Spring
There are no model-specific accessories for the new Spring yet — the car is only preparing to go on sale. The catalog already has products for the Dacia Spring model year 2021, but the body is new — 150 mm longer and 180 mm wider, so neither floor mats, nor mud flaps, nor window deflectors for the first generation are guaranteed to fit it. Model-specific window deflectors and EVA mats will likely appear after the car reaches the Ukrainian market.
For now, you can choose universal items. In a small cabin, dirt and water from shoes immediately end up on the floor, so universal floor mats are a good fit: a 4-piece set with a rim and a 900 × 500 mm trunk mat — measure the floor of your trunk before buying. For the charging cable and small items, a light EVA organizer bag that can be placed in the trunk will come in handy. To protect the body from dirt thrown up by the wheels, universal mud flaps will help. Once the production Spring appears, the most practical choice will be EVA mats — they are sewn to patterns for a specific car. Look for window deflectors in the window deflectors section.
We ship with Nova Poshta across all of Ukraine.
