Omoda 4 is the smallest crossover of Omoda, a brand under the Chery group, developed with Europe in mind. The official global premiere took place at the Beijing Auto Show in late April 2026; in France, the model is being shown publicly for the first time at the Paris Motor Show on 12–18 October 2026. The first version to arrive in Europe will be the 224 hp SHS-H hybrid; the electric version will follow later. As for its output, sources disagree: 155 kW in early European data and 160 kW in the version already launched in Indonesia.

What Omoda 4 is and where it was shown
The model has a long naming history. In April 2025, Chery showed it as Omoda C3, and in October 2025, at a meeting with journalists in its home city of Wuhu, it was already called Omoda 4. The full global premiere took place at Auto China 2026 in Beijing: the show opened on 24 April, and Omoda & Jaecoo brought Omoda 4 there together with the larger Omoda 7. The brand’s French division issued a press release on the model on 27 April. Production, according to CarExpert, started in April 2026 at the plant in Wuhu.
Omoda 4 is based on the T1X platform—the same one as Jaecoo 5—so they share many components. The brand calls the design Cyber Mecha: sharp edges, pronounced angles, slim LED headlights, a light bar across the full width of the rear, and boomerang-shaped taillamps. For buyers who want more than the regular version, the sporty Omoda 4 Ultra has been announced, featuring a large rear spoiler.
Sources also disagree on its class: the French manufacturer and the organizers of the Paris show call Omoda 4 a B-segment urban crossover, while part of the press calls it a C-segment compact crossover. CarExpert names the Hyundai Kona and Toyota Corolla Cross as competitors, and for the electric version—MG4.
What dimensions Omoda 4 has
Early 2025 data suggested a length of about 4.40 m and a wheelbase of about 2.6 m. The official figures that Omoda France and the organizers of the Paris show provide now are slightly different.
| Parameter | Omoda 4 | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 4 420 mm | Omoda France, Mondial de l'Auto |
| Width | 1 870 mm | Omoda France, Mondial de l'Auto |
| Height | 1 570 mm | Omoda France, Mondial de l'Auto |
| Wheelbase | 2 700 mm | EV specification for Indonesia |
| Ground clearance | 190 mm | EV specification for Indonesia |
| Trunk | 402 l, up to 1 126 l with the seats folded | Mondial de l'Auto, Indonesia |
| Turning radius | 5.1 m | EV specification for Indonesia |
The wheelbase for the European hybrid has not been published separately. Other trunk volumes (450 l) also appeared in early materials, but those were preliminary figures before the premiere.
Which hybrid Omoda 4 gets
For Europe, the main version is the fifth-generation Super Hybrid System (SHS-H) full hybrid without plug-in charging. Its components are:
- a 1.5 T-GDI DHE petrol engine optimized for hybrid operation—143 hp;
- a 150 kW electric motor;
- a 1.83 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery;
- front-wheel drive.
Combined output is 165 kW (224 hp) and 295 N·m. Omoda France explicitly notes that the figures are still awaiting homologation. In October 2025, the French press cited preliminary figures of 225 hp, 350 N·m, 4.5 l/100 km WLTP consumption, and 0–100 km/h in 7.5 s, but the official press release does not provide consumption or performance, so for now those numbers should be treated as a guideline. In some markets outside Europe, Omoda 4 will also be sold with a 1.6 turbo petrol engine rated at 147 hp.
How many kilowatts the electric Omoda 4 has: 155 or 160
This is where the data diverges the most. In autumn 2025, French outlets Automobile Propre and MotorsActu wrote about a 155 kW (211 hp) electric motor, a 60.9 kWh battery, and a WLTP range of over 400 km as expected parameters. These figures match the specifications of the electric Jaecoo 5 on the same platform. In September 2026, the German outlet Elektroquatsch, writing about European plans, also quoted 155 kW and about 400 km.
However, Indonesia was the first to get the electric Omoda 4 (in some markets—O4 EV): its debut took place on 29 July 2026 at the GIIAS show in Jakarta. There, the car has different specifications:
| Parameter | Early data for Europe | Omoda O4 EV (Indonesia) |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 155 kW (211 hp) | 160 kW, 275 N·m |
| Battery | 60.9 kWh | 65.05 kWh, LFP |
| Range | over 400 km (WLTP) | 553 km (NEDC); according to Wapcar—up to 470 km (WLTP) |
| Fast charging | — | up to 119 kW, 20–80% in 22 min |
| 0–100 km/h acceleration | under 7 s (estimate) | 7.1 s |
The Indonesian version also has a V2L function—powering external devices from the traction battery. Which of the two configurations Europe will get has not been officially announced by Omoda. According to Automobile Propre, in France the electric version will appear after the hybrid.
What is inside the cabin
At the center of the front dashboard is a 13.2-inch touchscreen (in the Indonesian electric version—vertical, with 2K resolution); in front of the driver is a digital instrument cluster: 8.8 inches in the specification for Indonesia and 8.9 inches according to the organizers of the Paris show. There is 50 W wireless smartphone charging, and the start button is hidden under a flip-up cover in fighter-jet style. Omoda 4 is the brand’s first model with new multimedia, which the company calls AI Cabin: the voice assistant recognizes emotional coloring in speech, suggests a route, and controls entertainment.
In Indonesia, the equipment list also includes a 1.9 m² panoramic roof, ventilated front seats with electric adjustment, a powered tailgate, and 18 driver-assistance functions, including adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. For the European version, Elektroquatsch mentions 16 such functions; which of them will be standard is not yet known. In Beijing, the brand also showcased the VPD automatic parking system: the car drives up to the owner on command and parks itself.
When Omoda 4 will appear in France and Europe
Timelines differ across sources, and that is worth knowing before planning a purchase:
- MotorsActu (October 2025)—arrival in Europe, including France, at the end of 2026;
- Automobile Propre citing Omoda & Jaecoo CEO Shawn Xu—launch in the second half of 2026;
- Omoda France press release of 27 April 2026—in France “over the coming months”;
- Paris Motor Show website—officially on sale in France in early 2027;
- United Kingdom—2027 according to Autoevolution, although Auto Express previously wrote about the hybrid launch as early as 2026.
The public debut in France takes place at the Paris Motor Show 2026: for Omoda & Jaecoo, this is their first participation in the exhibition, stand A91 in Hall 4. There are no official European prices. The press estimates roughly 25,000 euros for the hybrid and around 30,000 euros for the electric version, but these are estimates, not manufacturer prices. For comparison, the hybrid Omoda 5 in France starts at 30,990 euros, and the warranty across the entire Omoda & Jaecoo range there is 7 years or 150,000 km. We covered other new models from the Chinese group in reviews of Omoda 9 SHS and Jaecoo 5.
Which accessories the owner will need
There are no model-specific accessories for Omoda 4 yet: manufacturers make templates from real cars when they go on sale. Until then, universal solutions help. Universal car mats made of Stingray polyurethane or Polytep rubber keep water and snow contained thanks to raised edges, and for the trunk there are universal mats in the right size that can be trimmed to fit the recess. If your car’s roof has standard rails with a gap, crossbars will fit them for a roof box or bicycles; for a roof without rails there are universal roof rails. Window deflectors are selected only for a specific body, so for Omoda 4 they will appear along with other model-specific products.
