Do-it-yourself noise insulation of the VAZ 2110 floor

We previously wrote about how to soundproof the roof of the VAZ 2110 , now we are moving on to similar work on the floor of this model.

Materials and tools

To work on soundproofing the car floor, you will need the following:

• Building hair dryer.
• Degreaser (for example - gasoline).
• Clean rag.
• Cutting tool (scissors, knife).
• Roller roller.
• Vibration isolation material.
• Soundproofing material.

Training

The process of noise reduction of the VAZ 2110 floor begins, of course, with the dismantling of the cabin:

• To begin with, the seats are untwisted and removed.
• Then the turn comes to the dashboard, since the front wall under it also needs to be silenced. Such work is quite laborious, but we will not describe it here, there is enough information on this topic on the Internet.
• We disassemble the central tunnel of the checkpoint and take out the dashboard up and over.

Note: when disassembling the panel, it is better to mark and photograph all the parts and bolts, so it will be easier and faster during assembly.

• After that, we take out the floor covering from the passenger compartment.
• Do not forget also about the upholstery of the shield under the dashboard. To remove it, unscrew the plastic caps.
• If you find factory noise on the surfaces, then we also remove it. However, if desired, you can leave the standard vibration and glue a new sound insulation on top of it, but this is at your discretion.
• Then debris, dirt and dust are removed. The surface is thoroughly degreased and left for a while to dry.

Soundproofing process

So, after the preparation stage, we go directly to the noise:

• Vibration isolation is applied to the metal surface as the first layer. In this case, it is recommended to warm the material with a hairdryer and carefully roll it with a roller so that air bubbles do not form.
• And again, do not forget about the shield under the dashboard and wheel arches, as they also let in a lot of noise.
• The second layer is glued soundproofing.
• In addition, it is recommended to process all wiring with noise.
• After that, we assemble the interior in the reverse order. This process is also not easy, but with the right approach, special difficulties should not arise.
