Installation of the SVR body kit on a Range Rover Sport L494

The 2018–2022 Range Rover Sport L494 features a modern design, but installing an SVR-style body kit allows you to significantly transform the front and rear of the vehicle without a full body conversion. In this project, the goal was to give the Range Rover Sport a more pronounced SVR styling while preserving the integrity of the factory design.

For the conversion, we used the SVR body kit for Range Rover Sport L494 2018–2022. Before installation, the parts were test-fitted, prepared, and painted.

The work was carried out in Chernivtsi at the partner certified service center ZUBRYN AUTO STUDIO.

What does the SVR body kit change on the Range Rover Sport?

The main difference after installing the kit is noticeable in the geometry of the bumpers and the lower body elements. The SVR design features more pronounced air intakes, more complex shapes, and a different rear-end configuration.

As a result, a standard Range Rover Sport gets an appearance closer to the factory SVR version. At the same time, the base body structure remains unchanged, and the update is achieved by replacing and installing compatible elements.

SVR body kit for Range Rover Sport L494

The project was based on the SVR tuning kit for Range Rover Sport L494, designed for 2018–2022 vehicles.

Before ordering such a kit, it is important to check the model year, the vehicle trim level, and the type of factory bumpers. You also need to consider the presence of parking sensors, cameras, radars, headlight washers, and other systems integrated into body elements.

Choosing the right kit for a specific vehicle base helps avoid unnecessary modifications during installation.

Preliminary test fit before painting

The first important stage is a full test fit of the parts. The new elements are installed on the vehicle without final fastening, and the mounting points and the joints with the fenders, lighting, and other body parts are checked.

At this stage, you can assess the kit’s geometry and, if necessary, adjust the fitment. Any refinements are best done before applying the paintwork.

For the Range Rover Sport, this is especially important because large bumpers and sharp body lines make uneven gaps clearly visible.

Preparation and painting of parts

After a successful test fit, the kit is prepared for painting. The surfaces are cleaned, treated, primed, and prepared for applying the base color.

The shade is matched to the specific vehicle so that the new parts do not differ from the fenders, doors, and other adjacent body elements.

High-quality painting is especially important for large bumpers, because even a slight color difference can be noticeable in daylight.

How did the SVR body kit installation go?

After preparation and painting, the factory body elements were removed, and the new SVR kit was installed on the vehicle.

During installation, the position of the parts, the uniformity of the gaps, and the correctness of the joints with neighboring elements were checked. Special attention was paid to transferring the factory equipment—parking sensors, cameras, and other systems.

Final fastening is performed only after the technicians have ensured the correct fitment of all parts of the kit.

Why is compatibility with a specific trim level important?

The Range Rover Sport L494 was produced in different trim levels, so externally similar vehicles may have differences in the design of bumpers, decorative inserts, and electronic equipment.

Because of this, the kit must be selected not only by model and year. Before ordering, it is advisable to check the specific vehicle base, the type of bumpers, and the presence of additional systems.

This approach greatly simplifies installation and makes it possible to achieve a clean result without unnecessary rework.

Cost of the kit and work

The cost of the SVR body kit for Range Rover Sport L494 in this project was 49 500 UAH. The cost of installation and painting was 35 000 UAH.

The work was carried out in Chernivtsi at the partner certified service center ZUBRYN AUTO STUDIO. Contacts and examples of completed projects can be viewed on Instagram: @zubryn_autostudio.

What changed after installation?

After the work was completed, the Range Rover Sport L494 received an updated front and rear in SVR style. The new elements changed the geometry of the bumpers and made the vehicle visually closer to the factory SVR version.

  • the shape of the front bumper was updated;
  • the lower part of the rear bumper was changed;
  • the design became closer to the Range Rover Sport SVR;
  • all elements are made in a single styling concept;
  • the update did not require changes to the base body structure.

Who is this restyling for?

This option is suitable for owners of the 2018–2022 Range Rover Sport L494 who want to significantly change the vehicle’s appearance without moving to a different model.

The kit is especially relevant for those who want SVR styling specifically, rather than a set of individual decorative add-ons. A comprehensive approach makes it possible to keep the same concept for both the front and rear sections.

Result of installing the SVR kit

As a result, the Range Rover Sport L494 received a comprehensive exterior update with an emphasis on SVR design. A correctly selected kit, preliminary test fitting, high-quality painting, and precise installation made it possible to integrate the new elements into the body without the feel of aftermarket tuning.

For such a project, it is crucial not only to have the kit itself, but also to properly verify compatibility with the specific vehicle before work begins. This is exactly what affects part fitment, gaps, and the final look of the Range Rover Sport after the conversion.
