Fiat is returning to the C-segment — Europe’s most popular class of family cars. The brand unveiled two models at once on shared hardware: the Fiat Grizzly crossover and the coupe-like Grizzly Fastback. Both are the “big brothers” of the Grande Panda, meant to win buyers from affordable family SUVs such as the Dacia Bigster. The cars will be shown in public for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026.

What the Fiat Grizzly is and when it was revealed
Fiat published the first official images of the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback on 3 June 2026, and on 11 July, on the brand’s 127th birthday, it showed both models in a separate video. The public premiere will take place at the Paris Motor Show, running from 12 to 18 October 2026, and Fiat promises the commercial launch from the fourth quarter of 2026.
Fiat calls both cars “global players”: they will be sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and later — in Latin America. Fiat chief Olivier Francois explains the idea like this: the Grande Panda brought the brand back to affordable family cars, while the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback complete this line-up — two cars for different needs and lifestyles, but with one idea: smart, affordable and with Fiat’s signature design.
According to the press, in different countries the Grizzly will become an indirect replacement for several models that have disappeared from the range: in Europe — the Fiat Tipo, in other markets — the Pulse and the previous Fastback. The main rival, publications say, is the Dacia Bigster.
Design: two bodies from one set
Below the roofline, the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback are mostly identical — the difference is in the roof and rear end. A shared feature is the recognizable LED headlamp signature, echoing the Grande Panda.
Grizzly — a classic family SUV
- vertical, “boxy” proportions, chosen by Fiat for cabin height and headroom;
- slim LED headlamps dropping into the front bumper, and an illuminated grille;
- squared wheel arches and chunky plastic cladding along the lower body;
- roof rails — standard equipment.
Grizzly Fastback — a coupe-crossover
- the roof slopes smoothly toward the rear, the silhouette is lower and more dynamic;
- the rear lights are connected by a continuous LED strip across the full width of the body;
- a small “ducktail” spoiler integrated into the tailgate;
- no roof rails.
According to Fiat, the Fastback is aimed at those who want the same practicality but in a more expressive form, while the regular Grizzly is for those for whom space and comfort are the priority.
Dimensions, interior and luggage compartment
Officially, Fiat says only that both models are shorter than 4.5 meters, and that the luggage compartment is “the largest in the class.” The brand will publish exact figures closer to the start of sales. Below is what is known so far.
| Parameter | Fiat Grizzly / Grizzly Fastback |
|---|---|
| Class | C-segment, family crossover and coupe-crossover |
| Length | up to 4.5 m (officially); according to the press — about 4.4 m for the Grizzly and 4.5 m for the Fastback |
| Luggage compartment | “the largest in the class” (Fiat); about 600 L in the Fastback (according to the press) |
| Platform | Stellantis Smart Car |
| Engines | petrol, mild hybrid, electric |
| Drive | front-wheel drive |
| Production | Stellantis plant in Kenitra, Morocco (according to the press) |
| Premiere | Paris Motor Show, 12–18 October 2026 |
| Sales start | from Q4 2026 (Europe, Middle East, Africa) |
Interestingly, in the Fastback, despite the sloping roof, the luggage compartment is even larger in length: Fiat explicitly writes about “greater longitudinal capacity” for long trips. The regular Grizzly, on the other hand, wins on height — it is easier to carry bulky items.
Not much is known about the interior. Fiat promises quality materials, plenty of space inside and new technologies. According to the press, there is a 10-inch multimedia touchscreen in the center of the dashboard, and there are many storage compartments for small items in the cabin. Some outlets also write about a possible seven-seat version, but Fiat has not officially confirmed it.
Engines: petrol, mild hybrid and electric
Fiat promises a full range of powertrains — from petrol to fully electric. The brand has not yet disclosed technical specifications; according to the automotive press, the range will look like this:
- Petrol. A 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine — the same as in other models on the Smart Car platform.
- Mild hybrid. The same 1.2 turbo with a 48-volt system; the most powerful version, according to the press, produces 145 hp. Gearboxes are manual or automatic, depending on the market.
- Electric. An electric motor and battery shared with other EVs on this platform. Fiat has not yet named battery capacity, range or charging speed.
There is no all-wheel drive in the announced line-up: all versions are front-wheel drive. For an affordable family crossover in this class, this is a typical choice.
Smart Car platform and the plant in Morocco
The Grizzly is built on the Stellantis Smart Car platform — the same one used by the Fiat Grande Panda, the fourth-generation Citroën C3, the Citroën C3 Aircross and the Opel Frontera. It is an inexpensive modular architecture designed for petrol, hybrid and electric versions alike. The Grizzly is Fiat’s largest model on it, and it is precisely thanks to the shared platform that the brand is getting two C-segment models for the cost of a single development program.
According to Reuters, the Grizzly will be produced at Stellantis’s plant in Kenitra (Morocco), where the Peugeot 208, Citroën Ami and Fiat Topolino are already assembled. For North America, the group is preparing its own versions under the Chrysler brand — according to MotorTrend, the Arrow (based on the Fastback) and the Arrow Cross (based on the regular Grizzly) with different exterior styling.
When sales start and how much it will cost
Sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa start from the fourth quarter of 2026, with Latin America later. In the UK, according to the press, the cars are expected in 2027. Fiat has not announced official prices yet; the European press expects a starting price in the €20,000–€25,000 range, i.e., on par with the main budget competitors.
Fiat has not yet said anything about plans for the Ukrainian market.
What a Grizzly owner will need
The Grizzly is designed for family and travel, so the first purchases after leaving the dealership are predictable: a roof rack and floor mats. There are no model-specific accessories for it yet, because sales have not started. Until they appear, universal solutions will help.
- Crossbars for roof rails. The regular Grizzly has roof rails as standard equipment, so crossbars for conventional rails will fit — before buying, measure the distance between the rails. Options are in the roof racks for rails section. The Grizzly Fastback has no rails, and how a roof rack will be mounted on it will become clear after the car is released.
- Floor mats. Until model-specific ones appear, universal rubber floor mats for the cabin and a universal boot mat will do — it is worth choosing the size to match the floor of the specific version, especially for the Fastback’s long luggage compartment.
Accessories for other models of the brand are on the Fiat tuning page.
