Materials and tools

To work on soundproofing the hood, you will need the following:

• Industrial dryer.
• Knife, scissors.
• Stitching roller.
• Rags.
• Degreaser (gasoline or white spirit).
• Cardboard for making patterns.
• If necessary, a screwdriver.
• Noise-insulating material (for example, Shumoff M2).
• Vibration isolation material (for example, Shumoff Comfort 6).

Soundproofing the hood of the VAZ 2170 - Priora

All work is carried out in the following step-by-step sequence:

• First of all, the regular trim will be removed from the inside of the hood.
• Then the metal surface is cleaned of dirt and degreased.
• Now patterns are made from cardboard, according to which patterns are cut out of materials.
• After the hood has dried out, the first layer is applied - vibration isolation. In this case, it is necessary to heat the adhesive base with a hairdryer, and carefully roll the material itself with a roller over the surface.
• The second layer is a soundproofing material, we also roll it.
