Recommendations

To ensure that the work goes quickly and efficiently, we offer the following list of recommendations:

• If you plan to carry out this work yourself, then it will be useful to wrap the wires with tape or adhesive tape every 30 cm.
• It is recommended to replace the fixing bolts and screws with longer ones, as the old ones may no longer fit due to the Shumkov layer.
• When applying the material to hard-to-reach places, it is recommended to cut the noise into smaller pieces.

Step-by-step guide for soundproofing the Priory floor

So, the process itself looks like this:

• First of all, the seats, the gearbox console, and the flooring are dismantled from the passenger compartment.
• Next, we clean the surface of the bottom from dirt, dust, remove possible rust and degrease. If there is factory soundproofing, we also remove it. Leave for time to dry.
• After that, we apply the first layer - a vibration isolator. At the same time, we heat the material with a hairdryer and carefully roll it with a special roller. Important: there should be no air bubbles.
• The second layer is glued soundproofing. Here, a hair dryer is no longer needed, the material has its own adhesive surface. In the area of the gearbox console, it is better to use thinner material (2 mm).
• The process of soundproofing the bottom can be considered complete. Now all interior elements are mounted in the reverse order.
