Materials and tools

For work we need:

• Building hair dryer.
• Rags.
• Degreaser.
• Roller for rolling materials.
• Wallpaper knife.
• Screwdriver.
• Vibration damper.
• Noise isolation.

Roof dismantling

Dismantling the roof of the VAZ 2114 should be performed in this order:

• To begin with, the sun visors are unscrewed.
• Then only the upper screws of the plastic sheathing of the racks are unscrewed.
• After that, it is necessary to dismantle the ceiling handrails. To do this, pry off the plastic pads located on the sides of the handrails with a screwdriver. There are screws under them, unscrew them and remove the handles.
• We disassemble the plafonds. First, we pry the case with a screwdriver, unscrew the lamps and disconnect the wiring.
• On the back of the ceiling we take out the fixing caps.
• We take out the trim through the opening of the trunk or rear doors.

Disassembly completed.

Roof soundproofing

After the disassembly is completed, we proceed directly to work:

• The first step is to remove the factory Shumkov.
• Then carefully degrease and give time to dry.
• The first layer is vibration isolation. In this case, the material is heated with a hairdryer and rolled from the center to the edges with a roller. There should be no air bubbles.
• We glue the sound insulation with the second layer, but, most importantly, the layer of materials should not be too thick, otherwise there will be problems with the installation of the skin.
• Now we install all the details of the roof in reverse order.
