Mercedes E-Class W213 in 2024 facelift and W214 style: AMG E63, Maybach or AMG-Line?

The 2016–2023 Mercedes E-Class W213 can be converted on the outside into one of five styles: the W213 facelift in AMG E63, AMG-Line, Maybach or Executive guise, or the new W214 in AMG E53 style. The first four kits are designed primarily for the pre-facelift 2016–2020 sedan: they replace the front and rear bumpers, headlights, trunk lid, and rear lights with 2020 facelift parts, while the hood and fenders remain stock. The W214 E53–style kit goes further: it also includes the hood and front fenders. Below is the content of each kit as listed on the product cards, a comparison table, and what you will need to finish after purchase.

How the pre-facelift W213 differs from the W213 2020+ and W214
The W213 sedan debuted in January 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show and was produced through 2023. Mercedes revealed the facelift online in March 2020 because that year’s Geneva Motor Show was canceled. Externally, the updated sedan received new bumpers, a wider grille, redesigned LED headlights (optional Multibeam LED), new-design rear lights, and a differently shaped trunk lid: the lights now extend onto it. That is why facelift-conversion kits from pre-facelift to facelift include both the lights and the trunk lid—without the new lid, the new lights will not fit.
The next generation, W214, was presented by Mercedes on April 25, 2023, and the AMG E53 Hybrid based on it—on March 11, 2024: a Panamericana grille with vertical slats, a bumper with large air intakes, a diffuser, and four round exhaust tips. We covered the W213 itself in detail—engines, trim levels, weak points—in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 review.
What kits are available for the W213 and what each includes
In the facelift kit section for the E-Class W213 there are currently five sets, all by GBT, designed to fit factory mounting points. The contents are taken from the product cards; where the card says “see photo,” we listed the parts based on the kit photo, and the contents of such sets should be confirmed with a manager.
| Kit | What gets replaced | What remains stock | What to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 facelift to AMG E63 | AMG E63 front bumper, AMG E63 rear bumper, rear diffuser with Silver tips, OEM 2020–2023 (LED) front headlights, trunk lid, 2020–2024 rear lights | Hood, fenders, doors, sills, interior | The sportiest look; the grille is not listed in the specification, although it is shown in the kit photo—please уточнюйте |
| 2024 facelift to AMG-Line | AMG-Line front bumper, AMG E63 rear bumper, rear diffuser with AMG-Line Silver tips, OEM 2020–2023 (LED) headlights, trunk lid, 2020–2024 rear lights | Hood, fenders, doors, sills, interior | A calmer front end than the E63, with the same lighting and rear |
| 2024 facelift to Maybach | From the photo: front bumper with a chrome grille with vertical slats, headlights, rear bumper with chrome inserts and tips, trunk lid with lights | Hood, fenders, doors, interior | The contents on the product card say “see photo”; confirm before ordering |
| 2024 facelift to Executive | From the photo: front bumper with a grille with horizontal chrome slats, headlights, rear bumper with diffuser, trunk lid with lights | Hood, fenders, doors, interior | A classic “executive” look; the contents on the card say “see photo” |
| Facelift to W214 AMG E53 | Front bumper assembly with grille and side air intakes, headlights, hood, front fenders, rear bumper with diffuser and four round tips, rear lights with a light bar across the trunk lid and wiring, trunk lid, brackets and installation hardware | Doors, sills, roof, interior | The deepest conversion: the entire front end is replaced; fits both the pre-facelift and facelift sedan |
Important: the kits for converting to the 2020 facelift do not include a hood or fenders—the front-end silhouette remains that of the W213. No kit includes side skirts.
AMG E63, AMG-Line, Maybach or Executive: which style to choose
- AMG E63 — for those who want the sportiest look: AMG E63-design bumpers, diffuser, and exhaust tips. The E63 and E53 styles are easiest to tell apart from the rear: the E53 has round tips, while the E63 has square ones.
- AMG-Line — a compromise: sporty but with a more restrained front bumper, while the rear and lighting are the same as in the E63 set. It looks good on a car that drives around the city every day.
- Maybach — a chrome grille with vertical slats and chrome inserts on the rear bumper. This is a styling inspired by Mercedes-Maybach models for those who prefer luxury over sport.
- Executive — a classic grille with horizontal slats, without sporty accents.
If you do not need the new headlight look and only want sportier bumpers, for the pre-facelift W213 there are body kit sets without replacing headlights and taillights: AMG E63 for 2016–2020 (front bumper, reinforcement bar, grille, diffuser for the stock rear bumper, tips) and Maybach for 2016–2020 (front and rear bumpers). Separately, there are Maybach-style LED headlights for the W213 2016–2020.
Can you turn a W213 into the new W214
Externally—partly. The W214 AMG E53–style kit replaces the entire front end: bumper, grille, headlights, hood, and fenders, and at the rear—a bumper with diffuser, the trunk lid, and lights with a full-width light bar. The hood and fenders are required here because the W214 has a different front-end shape, and without the new lights and trunk lid the rear of the new generation will not come together.
But the car will not become a true W214: the doors, glass, roof, interior, multimedia, and all the hardware remain from the W213. So it is honest to say “W213 in W214 E53 style.” We discussed similar logic—“new face, old body”—using the example of the G-Class W463 in G63 2018+ style.
What a W213 owner should do after the 2020 facelift
On a facelifted car, the headlights, taillights, and trunk lid are already the new version, so a full facelift-conversion set mostly duplicates what is already installed. For such a car there are two paths:
- Body kit set for 2020–2024: AMG E63 (front bumper and diffuser with tips), AMG E63 with a rear bumper, or Maybach (front bumper, grille, diffuser, tips, installation kit).
- W214 E53–style kit — according to the product card, it also fits the facelift sedan because it replaces the hood, fenders, lighting, and rear completely.
What you will need to finish: painting, sensors, lighting
- Painting. The bumpers in all kits are polypropylene (PP); they, as well as the hood, fenders, and trunk lid, are painted in the body color. First, the parts are test-fitted and the gaps are aligned, and only then are they painted.
- Parking sensors and cameras. The kits do not include parking sensors or cameras: the factory ones are transferred to the new bumpers. Before painting, check whether the sensor holes are already cut out or only marked.
- Headlights and electronics. If the car has Multibeam LED headlights, a camera, or a distance radar, discuss in advance with a manager what and how will be transferred and whether you will need an auto electrician to connect and configure the new lighting.
- Emblem and small parts. уточніть whether the kit includes the emblem for the grille, whether the stock one is transferred, and whether body modifications are needed for the new taillights specifically for your kit.
- Body. The trunk lid and rear bumper in the kits are for the sedan. For the S213 wagon and the C238 coupe, confirm compatibility with a manager.
Step-by-step preparation for the conversion is in the block below. The kit can be installed at the network of certified DD Tuning service centers—the nearest one will be suggested by a manager. Other parts for this body are collected on the Mercedes E-Class W213 tuning page.
We deliver via Nova Poshta throughout Ukraine.
How it works
- Determine your W213
- Tell the manager the year, body style (sedan, wagon, coupe), trim (Avantgarde, AMG Line, E43, E53) or VIN, and send photos of the front and rear: the year in the registration document does not show whether the car has already been modified.
- Choose the depth of the conversion
- For a pre-facelift sedan — a 2020 facelift kit in the required style; for a facelift model — a body kit for 2020–2024; for the look of the new generation — a kit in the style of the W214 E53.
- Check the kit contents and electronics
- Confirm the contents of the kits where the product card says «see photo», as well as what will happen with the Multibeam headlights, camera, radar, and parking sensors.
- Test fit before painting
- At the service, the old parts are removed, the new ones are test-fitted, the gaps are adjusted, and the openings for the sensors are checked.
- Paint and install
- After test fitting, the parts are prepared and painted in the body color, then installed, the lights and taillights are connected, and the operation of all systems is checked.
