Fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson N Line (NX5) is a sportier-looking version of the new Tucson, which Hyundai first showed to the world on October 12, 2026 at the Paris Motor Show. Compared to the regular Tucson, it stands out with different front and rear bumpers, 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust tips, black mirrors, and a dark interior with red accents. The engines and chassis are the same as on the standard version: mild hybrid, full hybrid with 245 hp, and plug-in hybrid with 292 hp. The N Line will go on sale together with the full range in 2027; prices have not yet been announced.

What Hyundai showed in Paris
At Hyundai’s stand at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles there were two main premieres: the second-generation Bayon and the new Tucson. The fifth-generation Tucson itself was unveiled earlier — on October 1, 2026 in New York, which we covered in detail in the review “New Hyundai Tucson NX5 (2027)”. Paris became the European premiere of the crossover and the world premiere for the N Line version. We rounded up the rest of the show’s highlights — from Stellantis concepts to Chinese stands — in the piece “Paris Motor Show 2026: summary”.
For Hyundai this is an important model: the fourth-generation Tucson, launched at the end of 2020, became, according to the company, the best-selling car in the private segment of compact crossovers in Europe. Hyundai Motor Europe CEO Xavier Martinet described the N Line as a version with a “lower, sharper stance, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and an interior in the spirit of sporty models.”
How the Tucson N Line differs on the outside
Hyundai calls it a separate N Line exterior package. Here is what it includes according to the official press release:
- a sharper front bumper with a pronounced lower splitter and satin-black air intakes;
- more substantial side sills and lower door trim painted in body color — on the regular Tucson there is unpainted plastic there;
- gloss-black mirror housings and inserts on the rear pillars;
- a rear bumper with body-colored diffuser-style inserts and dual exhaust tips;
- exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels;
- N Line badges on the front end, tailgate, and front fenders.
The rest of the body is the same as on the new Tucson: “muscular” arch claddings in the Art of Steel style, H-Edge daytime running lights at the front and vertical Prism tail lamps at the rear. For an extra charge, Micro Pixel Lighting headlamps with 25 600 LEDs are available, while LED rear lights in Europe come on all versions.
What changed in the N Line interior
Inside, the N Line gets a black monochrome interior with red accents. The front sport seats are upholstered in a combination of leather and textile suede and, according to Motoring Research, have thicker side bolsters for better support in corners. The N steering wheel features perforated leather at the grips, red stitching, and dark-metal-colored inserts; the pedals have metal covers, and the door sills have branded N Line trim.
The rest of the cabin is the same as on the regular Tucson NX5: a two-tier dashboard, a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.9- or 17-inch central screen — the largest in the class, according to Hyundai. There is a head-up display, two 15 W wireless chargers, four 100 W USB-C ports and, as an option, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. The trunk is 695 L, and the rear door opening angle increased from 73° to 83°.
Which engines are fitted to the Tucson N Line
Mechanically, the N Line does not differ from the regular Tucson: according to Motoring Research and autoX, it has the same engine range and suspension. For Europe, Hyundai has announced the following options:
| Version | Power | Transmission and drive | What else is known |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.6 T-GDi petrol | 150 hp | 6-speed manual | without a hybrid system |
| 1.6 T-GDi 48 V mild hybrid | 150 hp | 7-speed DCT, front-wheel drive | — |
| 1.6 turbo hybrid | 245 hp, 380 N·m | 6-speed automatic, front- or all-wheel drive | towing up to 1 910 kg |
| 1.6 turbo plug-in hybrid | 292 hp, 380 N·m | 6-speed automatic, front- or all-wheel drive | 17.1 kWh battery, 7.2 kW onboard charger, towing up to 1 810 kg |
An important nuance for the N Line is the electric-only range of the plug-in hybrid. Hyundai claims up to 81 km, but with 17-inch wheels and pending final homologation. The N Line sits on 20-inch wheels, and for such a car autoX and Motoring Research cite up to 67 km (42 miles). Hyundai did not specify separately whether the manual gearbox will be available specifically in the N Line trim — the final lineup will be shown in European price lists.
How the new N Line differs from previous ones
The Tucson became Hyundai’s first crossover with an N Line version back in March 2019, with the facelift of the third generation (TL). The fourth generation (NX4) received N Line in spring 2021. Comparing the three generations shows how the idea of the version has evolved:
| Parameter | Tucson TL N Line (2019) | Tucson NX5 N Line (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Wheels | 19 inches, dark | 20 inches, exclusive |
| Suspension | stiffer: front by 8%, rear by 5% | same as the regular Tucson |
| Engines | 1.6 T-GDi 177 hp, 1.6 and 2.0 diesels with 48 V | only 1.6 turbo petrol: mild, full and plug-in hybrid |
| Seats | leather and Alcantara, red stitching | leather and textile suede, red accents |
So the first N Line made some changes to the running gear as well, while the new one is purely a styling package without вмешання in the chassis. Diesels are no longer available in the Tucson lineup at all.
When the Tucson N Line will go on sale
The N Line is part of the new Tucson range from the very start, so it will appear in Europe together with the rest of the versions in 2027. Prices for the UK, according to Motoring Research, will be announced soon; for other European markets they are also not yet known. The European Tucson, as before, will be produced in the Czech Republic. Hyundai has not announced an official sales launch in Ukraine. If you are choosing between the new Tucson and competitors, our comparison is useful: Tucson NX5 and Toyota RAV4 2026.
Will accessories from the Tucson NX4 fit
For the new Tucson NX5, and N Line in particular — no. The fifth generation has a different wheelbase, a wider body and new doors, so floor mats, wind deflectors and side steps from the NX4 will not fit. Model-specific accessories for the NX5 will appear after sales start in Europe.
If you have a Tucson NX4 2021– (including the previous-generation N Line), choose accessories by body: floor mats for Tucson NX4 and window deflectors do not depend on the version. For side steps and mud flaps on the N Line with different side and rear trim, it is better to уточнити compatibility with a manager using photos of the car.
