BMW 7 Series G12 facelift in M760 2021 style

The pre-facelift BMW 7 Series G12 features a restrained executive design, while the 2021 M760 version looks noticeably more modern and aggressive. In this project, the goal was to comprehensively refresh the car’s exterior and bring it closer to the styling of the later M760.

For the conversion, we used the M-Look facelift kit for BMW 7 Series G11/G12. The work included test fitting, part preparation, painting, and final installation.

The installation was carried out at the partner certified service center Carfix in Ivano-Frankivsk at: 148B Yevhena Konovaltsia St.

What does the BMW G12 facelift change?

The main effect of this conversion comes from updating key body elements. The front end gets more modern geometry, and the overall look becomes closer to the facelifted BMW 7 Series.

On the G12 this is especially noticeable, since the front end is what most distinguishes early versions from later models. After installing the new kit, the car looks fresher without replacing the vehicle itself.

M-Look facelift kit

The foundation of the project was the facelift kit for BMW 7 Series G11/G12, designed to update the exterior in the M760 style.

Before ordering such a kit, it’s important to consider the vehicle’s model year, body type, trim level, and the presence of additional systems. The front and rear bumpers may integrate parking sensors, cameras, radars, and other electronic components.

Proper compatibility checks before starting the work help avoid unnecessary modifications during installation.

Pre-fitting the parts

Before painting, the kit must be test-fitted on the vehicle. At this stage, mounting points and the joints with the fenders, hood, lighting, and adjacent body panels are checked.

Test fitting makes it possible to evaluate the kit’s geometry and, if necessary, adjust the fitment before applying the paintwork.

For a large executive sedan, precision is especially important: even slight misalignment or uneven gaps are clearly visible on large body panels.

Painting the kit to match the body color

After test fitting, the parts are prepared for painting. Surfaces are cleaned, primed, and the shade is matched to the specific vehicle.

On the BMW 7 Series, paint quality matters a lot because the new bumpers cover a large area. Even a small color difference can be noticeable in daylight.

After the paintwork is applied, color uniformity and the match to adjacent body panels are checked.

How did the installation go?

After preparation and painting, the factory parts were removed and the new kit was installed on the vehicle.

During installation, we monitored even panel gaps, correct bumper positioning, and compatibility with all factory systems.

It’s also important to correctly transfer parking sensors, cameras, and other equipment elements so that they function without errors after the work is completed.

Cost of the BMW G12 facelift

The price of the BMW 7 Series G11/G12 facelift kit in this project was 144,000 UAH. The cost of installation and painting the parts was 60,000 UAH.

What changed after the facelift?

After the work was completed, the BMW 7 Series G12 received a more modern front and rear end, and its exterior became closer to the style of the 2021 M760.

• the new elements were integrated without changing the base body structure;
• the result looks cohesive, not like a set of separate parts.

Why is a comprehensive facelift better than individual parts?

Installing a single spoiler, grille, or trim piece only changes a local part of the car. A comprehensive facelift works differently: key body elements are updated in one style, so the car is perceived as a newer model year version.

For the BMW 7 Series, this is especially relevant because the model has strict proportions and a large number of signature design elements. If you change them individually, the result can look unfinished.

As a result, the BMW G12 received a comprehensive exterior update in the 2021 M760 style. The new body elements changed the perception of the car while preserving the characteristic 7 Series design.
